Language List Customization / Recent Languages in Transcription Dialog
Feature Description
When working in a multi-language environment (frequently switching between Dutch, English, and German), the current transcription language dropdown forces users to scroll through an extensive global list of all supported languages every time.
Relying on language auto-detection is unreliable in this workflow, as it frequently fails to correctly distinguish between German, English, and Dutch
Because of this, manual selection is frequently required, making the long scroll through unused languages a workflow bottleneck.
Proposed Solutions:
-
"Favorites" or Pinned Languages: Allow users to pin or select a shortlist of preferred languages (e.g., top 3) that appear at the very top of the dropdown menu.
-
Recent / Frequently Used Section: Dynamically pin the most recently or most frequently used languages to the top of the list for quick access.
-
Hide Unused Languages: Provide an option in preferences to hide or filter out languages that are never used.
