Metadata Display save column order

I am new to posting here and hope this is getting to the right place!

I would love for the order of columns to save along with metadata presets. In PP 25.1 when I save Metadata display, it does save the columns that I want, but every time I start Premiere, I have to reorder them. For example, in some cases I need Description column all the way to the left, but when I load my preset, it is over to the right and I have to move things to get to it, then drag it over to the left.

If there is a solution to this, please let me know! Otherwise, I would love to see a fix for it soon! Thanks!

I figured it out. You can save it as a “View Preset” and it will save the column order. This is different from a metadata display preset.

Then you can use the “Restore View Preset” option to put the ordering back how you want. You can also set a keyboard shortcut.

So basically a “view preset” saves both which columns are shown (metadata display), and their order.

There are at least two other posts regarding this feature. I would like my Column order to be consistent across my Workspaces. I would also like it to remain when I import or open someone else’s project. I can select the preset from the pulldown menu, but I need to re-order the columns every time. Two columns I’m particularly fond of are Video Usage and Audio Usage. I like them to be as far left as possible.

So, when saving the Custom Preset, it would be nice if it were possible to have the column order saved as well.

Thank you.

I'm not at my machine ... but I know from past experience that one view gets my saved Metadata schema shown, and the others don't. Can't remember exactly which as I normally of course pay no attention to this.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
