MKV: why only H264/AAC?

MKV files?? How many years as it been since we asked for that? I stopped counting.

But why only H264/AAC???? MKV files are incredibly polyvalent...

Also, FLAC support out of the box without the need of external plugin? Audition supports FLAC but not Premiere. WHY?????????
