Multi-Camera Cut Shortcut or Option to Cut All Audio and Video Tracks

I know everyone does multicamera differently but....most of my work is cutting 2-3 camera interviews.

When I playback I have Ctrl-1/2 set to cut to camera 1 or 2. I generally don't use the multi- camera view becuase once you scale a 4K multicamera down to 1080 things go awry in that viewer. (Fix this please adobe the 4K to 1080p scale down is extremely common)

Frustration:

When I cut to camera two it only adds a cut to the video track. This makes two clips on the video track and keeps one audio clip. One of these clips is still linked to the audio track so when I got to click it linked selection works, but when I click the other clip it is unlinked and you can basically slide it out of sync very very easiy.

Many times I might want to cut out a line or dead air between camera 1 and 2 so I am doing ripple edits on the audio and video at the same time, another reason why I want all tracks cut.

Workaround:

I usually stop my playhead, add a cut across all tracks (cmd+K but mine is mapped to C), and then select camera 2 so that I don't get any weird clips unlinked from audio, and then I can ripple trim to my hearts content.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to have the mult-camera cut commands cut all tracks? I don't want to switch the audio source just add an edit point so everything gets cut up equally.

Yes, that should be set in the initial sync. And I think it would accomplish what you want.

For nearly all my multicam, I've got a separate audio so naturally I want the audio to be the separate audio file. But occasionally, I do need to switch that setting. And at times, I forget ...

I don't really want to have the audio tracks change so much as have a cut applied.

When I toggle it on from the sequence fly out it doesn't seem to change the behavior. Maybe I needed to do it in the initial sync but I'm too far down the road for that now.

Also what does this mean?

In the multicam setup, do you have audio follows video selected? Don't recall exactly what the wording is ...
