This has got to change.... I need adobe premiere to be able to transcribe a multicam sequence within a sequence of other stuff too. For example, I have a show that is a presenter speaking to camera, then she throws to a three camera interview that was edited via multicam sequence. Time for captions... oh nope, Premiere will only read the presenter and not her multicam interviews. SO LAME!!!! I know I can export the interviews and go that route... But seriusly man, take those awful extra steps away from me. I got enough on my plate. Thank you for listening. Love you guys 🙂

@JFine Videos there may be a way to get to what you're trying to do from the beginning, but, it's hard to advise without knowing your project and situation.

That said, you can try "Generate static transcript" in the Text panel "..." menu. This will take your sequence out of "Text-Based editing mode", where the transcript is generated by all the source clips. Instead it will take the audio as it is in your timeline and transcribe that. The only downside to this approach is it's not "live", meaning the transcript won't update as you make changes to the sequence. You can re-run the transcription at any time, though.
