gotta say I've been able to adjust my workflow to deal with the font size issue...    Happy to give details of my setup if anyone's interested...

Premiere's tiny font interface has been a hindrance to productivity for over a decade, and it’s not just Premiere. Photoshop has the same issue, albeit there are settings in Photoshop that supposedly allow you to change font size, but–and here’s the cynical funny part–those changes have no effect.

What are the chances that Adobe will fix the font issue in 2026? Based upon past experience, and I’ve used Adobe products for over 40 years, close to zero.

Agreed, two things:

One might assume the underlying window pane/font handling is substantially
the same across multiple products, so if Premiere Pro is fixed, the rest
might follow?

Premiere Pro is used by some TV and movie studios, so there is potential
for really bad PR if "Hollywood" sours on Adobe, but so far, nobody in the
editing bays/sweatshops has made enough noise about this?

Adobe only cares about their stock price, which is slumped/stalled right
now, any PR that makes that worse will, IMHO, be the only thing that
catches C-level execs attention.

We need a response from Adobe.  It has been almost a year or more since Adobe finally acknowledged, sort of, they screwed up by removing the dark web documented debug workaround to the tiny font and said they were actively studying the issue.

Almost a year, and nada.  Yet we have a stream of silly AI tools that barely work, and now a stripped down version of Premiere Pro on iPhone for the TikTok crowd to replace the failued Rush app, but still no fix to a major usability problem for serious video editing.

What gives?

(Translation: If Adobe thinks something is important, they will allocate resources and get done, so clearly fixing the UI font usability problem has not risen to the level of anything other than brief lip service?)

I read somewhere that this was going to be a big part of the 2026 update.
Who knows if that's true, and I can't remember where I read it, but I did,
somewhere or 'nother.

Hi Francis, and kudos Kevin for keeping the topic active (last year - now chiming in in fall 2025)...I'm a long-time editor-producer-director in the longform documentary space, and I've really enjoyed talking to the Adobe team at places like Sundance. I can tell you that WE NEED THIS FEATURE BACK, and ideally easily accessible in settings, as monitors continue to diversify, widen and get finer resolutions. YES, we talk amongst ourselves about this issue, and a bunch of us (some with visual challenges) are really hoping the Premiere team brings back this basic ergonomic feature that especially helps those with aging eyes. It would be met with praise and NLE loyalty!

All that said...do we have a real sense of when this will happen? It's a BIG DEAL. Thanks!

There are many of us who do want font scaling options in Premiere for UI text. Staffers have acknowledged this has been requested, and is a fair user request, and is being considered.

That's as far as they go to letting any of us users know if something might change at some point. So we can hope.

Sometimes it's not Adobe. A Windows update reset my display settings. I have my monitors set to 125%. I am 65 and need the magnification.

It cost me a work hour figuing it out. I rebooted and there it was, the windows update wheel spinning around.

I love the way Microsoft lets you set hours you perfer updates but does them anyway. I do bleave a company that owns fonts though should let you choose your perfered font and size for your interface. Adobe is frustrating.

What I find frustrating is the microsopic size of the font used in the Properties and Effect Controls panels. If I'm trying to edit text in a mogrt, I have to use the Properties or Effect Controls panels, and the text in these is ridiculously small. Happily Adobe added a Font Size slider to the captions/Text panel, so I can at least edit my subtitles properly. PLEASE add this same functionality to the Properties and Effect Controls panels!

Just look at that nice, clear, easily editable text - I've outlined it so you can at least find the Properties panel...
