Pleaaaase change the Lumetri algorithms to the same as Lightroom's/Camera RAW

Dear Adobe wouldn't it be possible to let Lumetri exactly work like Camera RAW oder Lightroom?
What I cannot undestand ist, I can import a video in Photoshop and color grade and color correct it exactly like a RAW Picture in Camera RAW with Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks in so on. But it is so much more define and sensitive than the exact same sliders in Lumetri of Premiere. I get get much better results with Camera RAW than in Lumetri color. But its just not practical to import every video in PS first to grade it and then export it with PS to import it in Premiere. Why dont you just change the alogrithms for Lumetri to the ones in Camera RAW? Its such a bad experience to color correct/grade with Premiere like really, but is soooo fun in PS even with Video. No only the basic corrections work much better I can also use the HSL Tool of Camera RAW for example if I want to chane the colors of leafs on a tree from green to orange its one slide in Camera RAW but it takes for ages in the HSL Panel of Lumetri and the result is very bad and full of artefacts, you never get the color range that you need. Even the free programm "Cap Cut" has an HSL Panel similar to Photoshop but Premiere which also comes from adobe cant do it???? I really don't get it. And I know so many premiere Users complain about this Problem. Pleaaaaaaase act! Adobe pleasse! I really wanna grade and correct my footage in Premiere but its just not possible and looks awful. In Camea RAW it works like magic with video...

Pleaaaase Adobe do something!

    I'll give you one reason.

     

    They would have to significantly lessen what Lightroom can do to stills images. Or drastically limit what Premiere can do. Maybe sequence lengths of no more than say 100 frames. Would that be amenable to you?

     

    Because stills work ONE image, or a small group, at a time. They don't involve grabbing bits here and there from 183 different clips stored in different files, applying separate effects to every different clip, processing audio, and blending this all together on-screen in real time.

     

    If you can't see the processing load difference inherent there, well ... I can't help you.

     

    Plus the images that Lightroom works with are different ... the codecs are very, very different from what Premiere works with.

    Sure but I dont know why it shouldn't be possible to use the same algorithms

    You do understand that the two programs are not built on any similar code whatsoever?

    Yeah but as I said, You can load the whole Video in PS without any issues and grade the video in Camera RAW so why shouldnt it be possible to transfer that to Lumetri?

    Wanting improvements to Lumetri is great ... I've certainly ranted about it's limitations enough since they killed SpeedGrade.

     

    But ... video imaging/processing ain't at all like unto stills. Stills apps and controls are built for working one image at at time. Or you can batch what, 20 or so?

     

    Video ... not even close to the same thing. You're dealing with between 24 and 120 images per second ... for as long as the sequence plays.

     

    And past that, the images themselves are typically not at all like unto stills jpegs ... so even the image base is normally different. Yes, Photoshop can handle some video types, but not many. Give it a 30 minute sequence of a couple hundred shots? Not ... recommended.

     

    All that said, the best part of your post is noting the less-targeted controls of Lumetri. Which is actually a pain, although in some ways is a very video color thing.

     

    Because it is assumed that you will work controls against each other to get the specific effect you want.

     

    For example, pushing the shadows cyan ... use the Color Wheels shadow wheel, pull it down right, while pushing the mids color slightly upper left (yellow/red). The right combination gets your shadows cyan, but keeps your mids clean.

     

    Or Basic tab ... you want darker shadows, but it's too 'wide', so it also pulls your mids down some. So while pulling Shadows down, push Highlight up a titch. This is  typical colorist working processes.

     

    And is why using a color control is SO useful for color work ... you can work 2-4 controls at the same time, with and against each other. It is both vastly faster and also gets you places you wouldn't see otherwise.

     

    But ... getting proper color grading tool controls like "pivot" controls, to set where a control blends to a different range, would be HUGE.
