Please add Marathi (मराठी) support to Premiere Pro’s built-in Speech-to-Text and Auto Caption features.

Feature Request: Add Native Marathi Speech-to-Text & Auto Caption Support

Summary

Please add Marathi (मराठी) as a fully supported language for Adobe Premiere Pro's built-in Speech-to-Text and Auto Caption features.

Marathi is a major Indian language with a large native-speaking population, yet Marathi-speaking editors currently cannot use Premiere Pro's native transcription and automatic caption workflow for Marathi audio.

Requested functionality

I request that Marathi support be added to the existing Premiere Pro Speech-to-Text system, including:

- 🎙️ Marathi Speech-to-Text transcription

- 📝 Automatic Marathi caption generation

- ⏱️ Accurate word-level timing

- 👤 Speaker detection/labeling, where supported

- 🇮🇳 Proper support for Marathi Devanagari (मराठी)

- ✏️ Full editing of generated Marathi captions inside Premiere Pro

- 📤 Export of Marathi captions in standard formats such as SRT

Ideally, Marathi should behave like the other languages already supported by Premiere Pro's Speech-to-Text workflow.

Why Marathi support matters

Marathi is not a niche language. It is one of India's major regional languages and is the principal language of Maharashtra, with a large Marathi-speaking creator and media ecosystem.

There are Marathi YouTube channels, filmmakers, educators, journalists, podcasters, social-media creators, and businesses producing content every day.

For these creators, automatic captions are increasingly important for:

- YouTube and short-form video

- Accessibility

- Educational content

- News and journalism

- Interviews and podcasts

- Documentaries

- Social-media content

- Search/discoverability and multilingual content

The current workflow is unnecessarily complicated

Without native Marathi Speech-to-Text, a Marathi-speaking editor has to use a third-party transcription service or another application:

Marathi video → external transcription service → generate Marathi SRT → import SRT into Premiere Pro → edit captions

This adds additional software, processing time, potential formatting issues, and another step to the editing workflow.

Premiere Pro already has an integrated Speech-to-Text → Captions workflow. Adding Marathi would allow Marathi creators to remain entirely inside Premiere Pro.

Why this would be a valuable addition to Premiere Pro

Adobe has already demonstrated that Premiere Pro can provide sophisticated automatic transcription and captioning for multiple languages.

Adding Marathi would extend that existing infrastructure to another major Indian language rather than requiring a completely separate captioning workflow.

It would also make Premiere Pro considerably more useful for creators producing content specifically for the Marathi-speaking audience.

Requested addition

Premiere Pro → Text → Transcription → Language → Marathi (मराठी)

with the ability to generate:

Marathi audio → Marathi transcript → Marathi captions automatically

Please consider adding Marathi Speech-to-Text and Auto Caption support in a future Premiere Pro release.
