Please simplify and make track targeting behavior consistent and predictable.

When I copy a clip from the timeline and paste it, I expect the clip to be pasted onto the currently selected/targeted video track (for example V4), especially when V1 is explicitly disabled as a target.

Currently, Premiere can paste the copied clip back onto its original track instead, which can overwrite existing work on that track. This is extremely confusing and can potentially destroy part of an existing edit.

The UI already provides clear V1/V2/V3/V4 track-targeting controls, so users naturally expect Ctrl+V to respect the selected target track.

Please either:

1. Make standard Paste (Ctrl+V) respect Track Targeting, or

2. Provide a simple, clearly documented preference that lets users choose between:

   • Paste to Original Track

   • Paste to Target Track

Having separate concepts such as Source Patching, Track Targeting, Paste to Same Track and Paste to Target Track makes a very simple editing operation unnecessarily complicated.

The goal should be predictable behavior: if I select V4 as my target and disable V1, pasting should not modify V1.

Please prioritize improving the consistency and usability of existing editing workflows rather than adding more complexity to the interface.
