Premiere API expose track lock/unlock in UXP

Want to be able to group tracks (dialogue, sfx, music) and lock them when working with something else. Like when I already have my interview created, I can lock those tracks and work on music stems, and then vice verrsa. Right now I have to hand lock each one. Extendscript allows access to lock/unlock tracks I designate, UXP does NOT.

Technical detail for the Premiere API team:

  • ExtendScript has Track.setLocked(0|1) and Track.isLocked() (undocumented, but in use for years).
  • The UXP AudioTrack / VideoTrack classes have setMute() / isMuted() and an EVENT_TRACK_LOCK_CHANGED event, but no way to read or set the lock state.
  • With CEP disabled by default in December 2028, extensions that lock tracks have no UXP migration path. A matching isLocked() / createSetLockedAction() on the UXP Track classes would close the gap.

Related older thread: "Lock / Unlock audio or video track" (Adobe backlog item B-125363).

    Hi jbw,

    > (undocumented, but in use for years)...

Those QE DOM calls, aren’t just undocumented; they have always been explicitly not supported, or recommended. [Doesn’t mean they’re not useful, of course. ;)]

We continue to drive functional parity between what CEP+ExtendScript could do, and what UXP can do; we plan to attain parity, significantly before 2028.

Also...my team staffs the UXP API forums, consider posting API-related questions and comments over there.
