Premiere Pro 2026: Gausian Blur Mask Path or Position does not follow keyframe
Created an ellipse mask for a Gaussian Blur layer, and enabled animation for Path and Transform/Position for that Mask.
- Path and Position do not follow the path/positions set at various keyframes in the video. I create a keyframe with one set of positions at point A of the video, and another set for point B of the video. The Path/Position settings do not change as set when the editor moves from point A to B.
- In version 2025, I used to be able to move the Mask manually around the image at various points in the video and the keyframes with position settings would be automatically created at each point. Now it seems I have to click the Add/Remove Keyframe control (diamond) each time to create a keyframe. That said, because of issue #1 above, these keyframes are useless.
I would like the keyframes to be created automatically when repositioning the mask, and for the mask to follow the path/positions that I am trying to set for each keyframe. This used to work in version 2025 when the Gaussian mask was embedded in the Gaussian Blue tool. I’ve tried using both the current and legacy versions of the Gaussian mask tool.
Feedback: in general, I do not like the new way that Masks are handled for Gaussian Blue nor Opacity.
