Problem with one drive an Premiere pro settings

My Adeobe setting are saved under ****Documents\Adobe\....***

But this folder is by default synced with One drive.

How do I Change that NO Adobe Program saves anything in that folder? After all it is my documtes folder and App Data should be saved under AppData not under Documents. Now each time one drive syncs I loos all my presets in all my adobe programs. - Don't know why but they always get set back to standard.

Already changed the cage files and media common files to a different folder, but each time I start any Adobe Program it trys to read from my Document folder, HOW do I stope it?

Cheers Christof

PS it is only since the last update, never had an issue before

The only way to circumvent this behavior (and it occurs in both Windows 10 and Windows 11) is to back up your Adobe folders from the My Documents folder to another location, and then disable syncing before you copy the folder and files that you just backed up back into the My Documents folder. The OneDrive sync will then no longer delete your Premiere or Adobe files because it will then no longer function.

Thank you for that reply, that reply is a little sad I must say. Kind of was hoping that somebody comes and says: "are you blind, you change it here...." damn... thats bad...

Thanks again for your quick reply, I really appreciate.

It cannot be changed at all and i agree with your point here.

It´s a dangerous path Adobe are using here, to save/default to the Documents folder, especially since OneDrive do delete everything from that folder if one un-sync it. OneDrive is set to sync the Documents folder by default, thats why Adobe should stop defaulting everything to that folder.

OneDrive do not ask any questions such as "Do you really want to delete...". I think that the fact that OneDrive can delete files silently is the reason behind all posts that have popped up here too often lately, that peoples project files *and* auto saves suddenly are deleted.  People have had project files and all source media deleted as well, including exported files.

Premiere Pro default to the Documents folder and OneDrive are happy to delete files there without asking the user for permission to do it. Not a good combo there...

I uploaded a YouTube video of a screen recording i did were i showed how easy and silent OneDrive deletes everything when i un-synced. No one from Adobe replied so i guess fixing this is not on the road map at all.
