Range Marker Export

In Beta 26.3.0, I discovered Range Markers have been added!  So I ask, “what can I do with them?”

Turns out not much.

What I’d like to see is a batch export timeline sections using Range Markers.  Simply add “Range Markers” to the “Range” dropdown on the export dialog.  It would then export the Range Markers as separate files with the parameters from the settings. For file names it could use the Range Marker Name (if available), or just add a numeral to the file name in the dialog.

The idea is to work like CD Track Markers in Audition. You set up the range markers on the timeline, rename them, then export to discreet audio files which retain the marker names.

When I have to slice up a longer file to shorter ones,  I currently have to set in/out for one section, open Export panel, make sure range in/out is selected, name the file, then mouse all the way down to the Send to AME button and click (no keyboard action can complete the export). Then rinse and repeat for each section. It will be much faster to mark the segments, name them, then click one button to export all.

    Here is a script for Automation Blocks for Pr, which can do this:

    To try it, just install the free trial of Automation Blocks and download the attached xml script.

    In Automation Blocks just load and then run the XML script file.

    Before running it, make sure each marker in the active sequence has a duration and a name.

    @Mathias Moehl,

    Awesome! I gave it a go.

    I am running Automation Blocks 1.1.012 in PR 26.2.2 on Win 11.

    Simple project/sequence. I set 2 markers, added a name for each, and set on to 5 seconds and the other 10 seconds duration. Ran fine, opened AME with the 2 ranges, and only required me to click Start Queue in AME.

    I did discover an error, which was quickly fixed: the end time was also set to In Point; I just changed that to Out Point and saved the script.

    Great catch, @Stan Jones !

    I updated the  script - the new version is not in the Community library. Here is the direct download link:

    @Mathias Moehl

    Can Automation blocks do this?

    @MisterAdvent, I’ve already upvoted.

    I found this helpful:

    Select the Range:!--tgqphd|[]--> Hold Shift!--tgqphd|[]--> and double-click the Range Marker. This will set your In and Out points to the exact duration of the marker.

    Thanks. I discovered you can mark in/out then “add range marker to in and out” and stack up range markers pretty easily, but on export there’s no way to specify you want to export each range as a separate file in one swell foop (or stitch the ranges together as one file). That’s what I need for my workflow.
