Range selection tool

The ability to select a portion of a clip in the timeline just does not exist! I edit podcasts which are difficult enough as Premiere doesn't handle hour long timelines with hundreds of cuts very well. The current method is using a blade tool and cutting the beginning and end of the clips and then pressing delete, or having to scroll the playhead and using CMD+K. The range tool is just select and delete. Why does not exist? Its 2025.

Every 4 months I pay Adobe the equivalent of a full lifetime license of Davinci Resolve Studio and Premiere "pro" is still lacking basic features like this.

Adobe I am getting tired! Please add this.

Ann's right, why aren't you using the built-in top & tail cuts? Q and W are wonderful tools.

If you just want the beginning or end cut of a clip in the timeline why not

use Q and W for single track

for multiple tracks stack on top of each other

target track and use shift+Q and shift+W
