Catalina (Mac OS) has nullified the DV capture setting for Premiere Pro. Editors need this feature desperately. Please bring it back. I have lots of old tapes I need to capture. Am I supposed use iMovie? We pay for these features. Please add them back.

In Premier, I no longer see the DV capture option after upgrading to Catalina. I only see HDV. Please fix.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the DV capture settings. It has really disrupted my editing workflow AND cashflow. So of us still use older tape cameras for artistic reasons and NEED the DV capture feature. Please HELP fix this.

No, this has not been fixed yet. Workaround is to capture using iMovie, and import the resulting file(s), but this will not support scene detection.

I use multiple Sony DV cameras on a regular basis so would love for the feature to be brought back! I hope we can gather enough support for it to happen.

The reason for this is that MacOS Catalania no longer supports a DV/Video framework that is used by Premiere on Mac. So, it's not a plain bug, but requires investment to migrate to the now current framework. Catalania actually has several such "breaking changes" making older (parts of) applications no longer usable. Think twice before upgrading to Catalania, like when still using Adobe CS6.

That said, it would be helpful to continue the pretty fundamental feature of DV import.
