Catalina (Mac OS) has nullified the DV capture setting for Premiere Pro. Editors need this feature desperately. Please bring it back. I have lots of old tapes I need to capture. Am I supposed use iMovie? We pay for these features. Please add them back.
I think we should all ask for a refund of fees. Product not as advertised so not fit for purpose.
Just had new update now the capture drops out after 15-30 mins. Prev fault with capture was it would not save and or crash when I tried. Now it seems to save ok but will not run for any length of time.
This has been going on for months. Think it's going to be a case of Black Magic here I come!!
Does Adobe ever respond to this thread? I feel like we're shouting into a brick wall. This is a serious and widespread issue that needs immediate resolution and we're hearing nothing in almost 18 months!! Please fix this problem Adobe.
Please fix Adobe, this is absurd. Even though the technology is outdated, people use this format all the time to capture collections that are needing to be digitized. It'd be like getting rid of scanners because printed photos are "obsolete". Do better with these kinds of decisions!
I'm just running now into this issue, and this is a huge disappointment for me! I bought a dv tape deck to capture the archive dv tapes that are full of source footage for a documentary I'm putting together. It's absurd that DV would be considered an obsolete format especially when it comes to archiving footage and building historical documentary edits. Plus, there is a huge demand for the retro aesthetic, and a whole new generation is using cameras like the VX1000. What gives???
Please bring back the ability to capture DV using firewire 1394 Terrible that this feature was removed in Catalina. We need to be able to import older tape based material.
