Relinking media is far too slow

Premiere desperately needs a more intelligent way of relinking media. Sometimes I need to quickly open a large project to look for something but I have to wait a full age of man before I can actually look at anything in my sequence because relinking is so ABSURDLY slow!  

Can we please have the option to relink only the media from a specific sequence and not the ENTIRE project. It's just one the many unnecessary slow downs, and all these little bottlenecks are by far the worst part of editing in premiere
