Replacement by example with Firefly

Hi,

Now there is a hype with the introduction of new features. There's a lot of fun in there, but I wanted to ask for something to work with.

If I have a movie in which it is necessary to replace the titles with lower third, the sourcesare no longer available, then this turns into a real quest. I would like to suggest considering a replacement by example mechanism when you need to change something that already exists to another option. Sometimes you need to remove the titles or subtitles completely, this is also often impossible to do without artifacts.
I think many in the industry will appreciate it.
Thank you

You made a comment, but you didn't vote for the idea. Then what is the point of discussing approaches? I have a variety of approaches depending on the situation, but we are talking about a new tool that expands the arsenal of tools.

Sounds quite tricky as it is sometimes even difficult to do this on complex still images without being obvious where the original item has been removed.

Assume you have titles over moving images and not stills. What resolution ?

My guess is you would have to treat each frame as a still image and remove the title hoping that the image frame could be recovered from surrounding pixels?.

However, you might then get 'moving artifacts' where the title area had been when played as a video

I guess if you have powerful enough algorithms it could be done.

Why not cover the titles with a slightly blurred background just slightly larger than the original text - constructed from a sampled area from the original image around the old titles ?. Then put new titles on top of that. Quick and dirty approach.

Someone might have a more elegant approach .....
