Request for option to visually show DB levels on audio clips

Idea is simple enough:

In the timeline it would be great to have the ability (like clip names) to toggle on/off the visual of the volume db on the clip. Similar to how avid media composer has it.

Currently, I believe the only way to tell would be to either hover over the volume line, or select the clip and view the effects controls tab. It would be nice to see by just looking at the timeline what the volumes are on my music edits when I'm editing trailers.

I also suppose adding an opaque volume level line on expanded audio clips would also be a way of doing it as well.

So it would show on the audio track what the volume dB level is per clip.

How does Media Composer handle such displays for volume graphed clips?

So it would show on the audio track what the volume dB level is per clip.
Right now I think the only way to show this is by either selecting the clip and going to effect controls, or hovering over the volume line like below.

Hello tkeller,

It isn't clear to me what you are referring to when you refer to "the volume db on the clip".

The level of any given clip is going to be affected by:

- clip gain

- channel audio levels on audio channels (which can be set independently, and keyframed)

- clip audio level graph (which can be keyframed and change at different points on the same clip)

- track audio level graph (which can be keyframed and change at different points on the same clip)

- audio effects (of which, some have volume or gain controls)

(This omits routing and mix track volumes).

You may also be simply referring to peak value of any given clip?
