Reset Individual Preference Categories

Instead of resetting all preferences, allow users to reset individual preference sections (for example, Media, Media Cache, Timeline, Playback, etc.).

This would save users from losing unrelated settings when troubleshooting a specific issue.

Well, if we’re adding requests for the Preference dialog, I would like to see the form become:

  1. Non Modal
  2. Have a <Save> button to apply the settings right then, while the form is still open.
  3. Have the form open to the last used Tab.

Cheers, thanks very much.

Thank you @Sankarasanjeevi ,

To confirm, the feature you want would impact the Premiere Settings Pages, adding a Reset option to each of the main Settings pages like so?

While I can’t guarantee if this idea will make it into the future updates, we appreciate users reaching out with new ideas.

Thank you,

Amy

Hi Amy, yes, that’s correct.

The request is to add a reset option for each individual Preferences page/category, so users can reset only the section they are troubleshooting, such as General, Media, Media Cache, Timeline, Playback, etc., without resetting all Premiere Pro preferences.

The example shown in your screenshot is exactly the kind of behavior I’m suggesting: a per-page reset button that restores only the currently selected Preferences page to its default settings.

Thanks!
