Rework option for deleting all footage within 'In and Out Points'

This has happened to me multiple times. I set In and Out points to render something and I forget to remove them. I started editing a different part of the project, and at some point in the process, I accidentally deleted all of the footage that was in the In and Out points. There is no visual communication that this change has occurred, so there's no way for me to know that I made the mistake. Now I've potentially wasted hours of work by accident.

I want this function to be removed or changed. I think this could be another option that is in the menu that appears when you right-click on the timeline (where the other options for In and Out Points are). That way no one accidentally deletes their footage. So if you're editing in a different part of the project and hit delete when nothing is selected, you won't accidentally delete footage you want to keep. On the other hand, the function is still available for anyone who wants to delete a portion of their video.

I understand this is partially my problem for not removing the points, but it feels like an oversight to be able to accidentally do something so destructive with no way of knowing that it's happened. Either some visual communication or a more deliberate button would go a long way to make sure it doesn't happen.
