save us a click - let us click on an option without having to click that section's checkbox first

a small request that no one will care about but I find myself doing this over and over. i want to be able to click where the red marks are instead of clicking on the checkbox to the right of the header first. when I click the time, or a slider for example, i want to use that feature, so it should enable itself when i go to make that change.
