Suggestion for finding anything - via Search Bar

Hey community!

I have the feeling that this did work 2 years back, maybe I have a bug, but if I do, it is there for a long time already.
When I am searching something (not the AI search, which is great! but useless for this) like sequences, nested files, especially things that are created within a project, it does not show me results with only single letters.  I have to type whole words/file names. 
But I have one PrProject file for each client, over time there are so many sequences that I cannot remember all of them perfectly. But searching for half the name ends up withouth any results.

WHY? How can I change this, if possible, or can we get that feature - which is really nothing special.

I only want to see all results that have the letter combination I am searching for somewhere in its name.
