SUPPORTING older computers & operating systems - we shouldn't have to pay for CC when WE CAN'T USE ANY UPDATES!!! >:(

I have a 2017 macbook.  I can’t download the latest Premiere but am still charged full price for creative cloud despite not being able to use the software.  I can’t collaborate with other Adobe users and the ONLY reason is Adobe refuses to update old versions.

I don’t know of any software company that will go back to an old program to add features… adding features is done to a new version, which also includes being made compatible with newer operating systems… this is especially true of a Mac, where Apple (not Adobe) makes changes that force having a new program to run

You will get nothing but sympathy here. I do wish had a process for allowing older hardware to work with the versions it can work with.

That said, I can’t think of another subscription service I know of that does. I’m sure something does. But I don’t know of it. And of course so many business type apps are subscription these days, especially bookkeeping.

I can use Premiere 2025 but it’s absolutely unethical to charge me $720/year under the guise of “updates” when I can’t even download them.  It’s also wrong that we can’t opt out of AI.  I don’t want AI features, I don’t want updates I can’t use, I want to stop being price-gouged.  My computer’s working perfectly, there’s no reason for me to replace it other than planned obsolescence and greed. Adobe’s making a choice.

That’s kind of like renting an apartment with access to an indoor swimming pool, but you can’t swim.
