The option to have keyframes use linear spatial interpolation by default, instead of auto beizer!

After Effects has this option, and for good reason! Auto bezier leads to all sorts of unintentional movement. This is especially newb-unfriendly.

It would’ve even not been as bad if it was temporal bezier, but I’ve had so many instances where an animation would jitter in every direction because I made a small tweak.

Best would still be linear and to have a macro for temporal, though.

I wouldn't say bezier is largely unappriciated, you can do some pretty amazing stuff by beziering an animation when you get the hang of it. Linear is of course safer and often enough get the job done, but when you have to do something really complicated the linear mode makes the movements look somewhat stiff, crude and unsmooth.

In my opinon you should be able to set the default to one or the other and to be continuely so for setting new keyframes until you change it again. The freedom of choice!

Sincerely yours, best regards and all that 🙂

I'm likely undereducated on this front, but I have no idea why this hasn't been changed, or why anyone would want "largely unpredictable (?) bezier motion" as a default instead of "direct linear path from point A to B as indicated". Why not either make "liner" the default or at least allow us to change the setting manually? Thanks!

In general, Premiere keyframes and masks are incredibly bad compared to the ones in After Effects. I think that's a way they make people have to jump to AE when having to use any advanced property animation or masking.

How is this still not resolved? Everyday i have to right click dozens of keyframes to choose linear. Not one of my projects has used bezier keyframes and yet that is the default. Absolutely ridiculous.

I would also love this change, having to change to linear everytime can get repetitive
