Premiere Pro's timeline gets really cluttered with scrollbars when you have a lot of video or audio tracks, which is a pain for big projects. I think it would be a game-changer if they implemented a timeline style like Media Composer's. In Avid, the window expands to fit the tracks without forcing a scrollbar, keeping everything in one view. We should obviously still be able to zoom and resize track heights, but the adaptive window would be much better.

You’ve nailed a real workflow pain point. Premiere Pro’s reliance on scrollbars for large track counts does make complex projects feel cramped, whereas Avid’s adaptive timeline view keeps everything visible without constant scrolling. An “expand-to-fit” option in Premiere would let editors see all tracks at once, while still preserving zoom and track height adjustments for precision work.
This kind of adaptive timeline could reduce navigation friction, speed up editing in multi-track projects, and make the interface feel more fluid—especially for editors juggling dozens of audio stems or layered video effects. It’s essentially about shifting from scroll management to visual clarity.
If you’re considering pitching this idea, framing it as a productivity enhancement rather than just a UI tweak might resonate more with Adobe: less wasted time scrolling, more focus on creative decisions.
