Transcript Captions option: remove end full stop/periods

When subtitling long conversations, I have a style preference of removing full stops/periods at the ends of sentences, especially if the subtitle is just a single sentence. It makes the subtitles cleaner and the conversation seem less stilted.
I'd love to see an option in the Create Captions dialogue box to automatically remove these trailing punctuation marks at the end of subtitles.

Actually, a lot of the caption editing I have to do is correcting all the wrong punctuation that the transcribing function added.
But even if it did it perfectly, I’d still want this style option.

@MakingAToZ,

Still pondering this one; not my style, so....

If you have 2 short sentences, and the first therefore must end in a period (true?), do you use the ending period?

I'm looking at the ease of a search/replace workaround.

This is a good point. It’s typically not my style to remove punctuation in text either, but I’m more academic.

I think reduced punctuation, or very intentional punctuation, is the modern approach to media and marketing. You see it a LOT in online videos, shorts and tiktoks. Removing the excess characters creates a cleaner look, and such characters usually don’t add much more to reading or listening comprehension. This is especially true for people like myself who love having subtitles on and can still hear the speech, but it might be different for people with hearing impairments that don’t benefit from the additional audio.

To suit everybody, the option could have a sub-option for the user to choose “Only on single sentences”.
As well as another sub-option to choose which common forms of punctuation to keep/remove. I want periods and commas at the end of subtitles removed, but not question marks. I’m not sure if the auto-transcriber ever adds any others, but it’d save me a LOT of time removing all of these unnecessary character addendums.
