Tweaks to Export Panel
I frequqently have to slice up a long clips into shorter ones. I put the long clip on the timeline, trim it to the start/end points of each clip to export, then select the range and export each one, giving it a new filename.
After trimming the clips and setting export defaults I can do all tasks with keyboard shortcuts EXCEPT actually sending the job to Media Encoder. Here's what would eliminate having to mouse down to the export buttons.
FIRST:
Replace the "Send to Media Encoder" and "Export" buttons with a single button with a drop-down that changes the default action to either Send to Media Encoder or Direct Export. (This would also avoid the confusion that sometimes happens when accidentally clicking the wrong button.)
THEN:
When file name is entered, the first strike of the "Enter" key sets the name (as it currently works). If there's no mouse movement or other keyboard input, the 2nd strike of the "Enter" key executes the default export action selected above.
We need to be able to set the default export action before this can work, so that's why the first part is needed. If you don't have a switchable execute button style, you could place radio buttons next to the Export button to choose which action the button does. You could also bury the selection in settings, but that makes it even less intuitive.
