Allow users the ability to see the filler words by checking a box or allowing it as a preference.

Right now, we see [filler] or [...], and I’d like the option to see what the person actually said, or at least a guess by AI. Also, you cannot export a transcript with the filler words, even with the indicators for filler words.

@ScottNadeau thank you for the feedback. The way the transcription works, there isn’t a word underneath the [filler] that we are hiding. Fillers are parts of the audio that we’re pretty sure are human voices, but aren’t intelligible as any word. Since there is no word there in the transcript, but we think the person was still speaking or making voice sounds, we call it a filler.

Generally what we’ve heard in terms of exporting is that people don’t want the fillers and pauses in the exports because they’d have to remove them from the text for their use cases. Do you have a workflow that would benefit from having [filler] and [...] (which represents a pause) included in the exported transcript?

Thanks for the response. Yes, sometimes my workflow is to “paper edit” by looking at a transcript to find the best soundbites for a documentary/video. By leaving out the filler words (or even indicators of them), I have no way to judge the performance of an interviewee. A sentence that looks fluid on paper could be very broken on video. Acuracy is important. It seems like the technology is there. I’d even be happy with the ability to copy/paste what’s in the text window to an external document, and that’s not possible.
