Adobe Aero Desktop for UX

I have been using Aero to create various UI designs and wanted to share some issues I have encountered. An example project can be found here: I am wondering will there be future updates to address issues such as lack of alignment tools, non-adjustable model materials and UI controls. In general I am curious if Aero will work better with other Adobe products such as Figma or Adobe Substance.

Thank you,

Matthew

UI type

Issue

Workaround

Geometry

Cannot preserve model hierarchy and collapses hierarchy into a single object

Import objects separately and rebuild model hierarchy

Geometry

Imported geometry does not preserve transformation or size

Manually reposition/resize

Geometry

No alignment tools or snapping

Manually position and align

Geometry

GLTF import fails with models without error messages

Import as glb

Materials

Cannot access or modify a material

Duplicate objects/ materials

Geometry

Too much compression for obj files

Export as glb

UI

Cannot toggle on or off UI states

Duplicate geometry and hide/show the associated object

UI

SVGs are hard to select as they are too thin

Export SVG as 2D images on 3D geometry

UI

No preview on different devices (phone/computer/tablet)

Keep reexporting and testing.

UI

No logic for built in UI controls such as toggles, radio buttons, menus.

Need to build logic using triggers to mimic widgets

UI

Ability to align UI with the screen.

No workaround. Camera alignment tools can’t do this.

Hi @MatthewKwok thank you for you detailed summary and sample project. I will surface this with the product team. I can let you know we are hard at work on some gig revisions and will make sure your suggestions are on the Radar. Aero works well with tools like Substance like painter and stager specifically their .GLTF file output. Thanks
