Improved Search Feature

I am sure this has been requested before but it for some reason still does not exist. The search function on this site is very poor and would likely improve QoL as well as reducing duplicate posts/comments on old posts. 

Here is a small list of basic search features that are missing:

• A “sort-by” filter. Why is there no option to sort by most recent comment/post? This is a feature on likely every support forum ever. This can ensure users are finding the most up-to-date information.
• A filter for “Answered/Unanswered.” Again, why would such a critical feature be missing. 
• Improved community search tabs/ability. Currently there are 2 options: All results and “Community.” Having more tabs, like one for the most popular forums, would make navigation much easier.

This is not even mentioning that I believe the search function is quite broken. If you scroll far enough, maybe after 50-100 unique posts, the list starts repeating the same 2-4 posts. You will not be able to find anything else, essentially rendering the search completely useless after enough scrolling. I would love to know if ANYONE ever noticed this. Below is a screenshot showing what I’m talking about. 

In addition to that, the “All Results/Community” tabs are horribly broken. They display a different number of results every time you refresh the page, whether the search term has changed or not. They show a similar behavior when switching between the 2. Sometimes the “Community” tab shows more results than the “All Results.” tab by up to a 1,000 results. Logistically, that shouldn’t be possible. I attached a recording showing this behavior. 

This is coming from a somewhat regular user on this forum now that has been getting frustrated with the forum itself. As a user of Adobe products, this is the best and the only place for us to go regarding bugs and seeking information. Simple, common search features like what I’ve listed would only make that easier. It is slightly disheartening to see such a lack of critical features on this forum. 

It is quite frustrating to see that instead of any of these *default* functions added, there is a half-page sized “AI Summary” that takes up load time and I completely ignore 100% of the time. I do not want a summary of an assortment of old threads containing the word I searched. Just like the rest of the search function, it seems completely useless and doesn’t function as intended; it just annoys me. 

EDIT: After checking the AI Summary after posting this, I remembered the fine print “AI-generated response. It may occasionally be incorrect or incomplete. Always verify with official documentation.”

Genius. Promoting possibly inaccurate information on your very own forum, and prioritizing it above humans who are the ones who contributed in the very first place. Another friendly reminder of the priorities here 👏
