"Unhide" the *Edit message* button

I've done some "clean up" in this post as it's been derailing from the original request:

Implement change to buttons to show the edit button along with the rest of the buttons without having to click on the 3 dots

As others have pointed out, the 3 dots have many other options for moderators and admins, which is why for regular users it only shows the "edit" button there. This is a OOTB feature from this community.

I see @David.Wang has acknlowedged the feedback, so we can leave it with him to see if this is something that can be customised from our end.

this thread is not the same as making the edit function available to all users, though it contains that suggestion.

the more menu can contain several submenu items.  when there's only one, it makes no sense.  but if you advance enough to see two or more submenu items, it will make sense.

I suspect the More menu is for options that not everyone will have.

Not everyone can edit their posts. You have to have been active here for a while for that to become available. None of us knows how long or how active, though.
