Brightness/Contrast no longer exists as an adjustment layer. Why? Bug or feature?

Photoshop 27.10.0 on MacOS - there is no Brightness/Contrast layer available. Bug or feature?

Nice to have Brightness/Contrast as a Pre-2026 Legacy option. I was using it for a Deke McClelland hack for a print adjustment layer to get the inkjet print closer to what is seen on screen. Ex: B = 40/C = -40.

This is not the same. There is no Brightness there. And why remove it, when you can still use B/C adjustment (but not as a layer)

Read the link. If you follow the forum by email, then you won’t see it because I added it later, so here it is again: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/desktop/create-manage-layers/color-adjustment-fill-layers/adjust-image-lighting-with-light.html. You can still create the legacy adjustment layers. About half way on that page.
