Problem invoking Photoshop from Lightroom Classic

Windows 11 64 but, 128 Gb RAM

When invoking Photoshop 27.9.1 from Lightroom Classic 15.5, Photoshop hangs after “Initializing tools” and never recovers. Have to have Photosop running before invoking it from LR and then things run as they should. This is new - probably came with the latest release as it I used it not long ago calling PS from LR “Open as Layers".

The workaround is to have PS running before trying to call it from LR but this bug should be fixed.

thanks and regards

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, is to try this:

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Application to uninstall Photoshop. When asked, keep preferences! After this reinstall Photoshop again.

If this doesn't help the next step is a reinstallation of both apps Lightroom and Photoshop. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client and uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. When asked, keep preferences!
    2. Install Photoshop first and then Lightroom Classic. The right order is very important here!

If this doesn't help try the reinstallation with removing the preferences also.

Well, this is not only about “link” between LRC and PS.

When LRC is running, PS cannot start from Windows, not by invoking from LRC,, getting stuck at Initializing. When PS starts first, it starts OK and LRC starts OK too and PS can be calle from LRC. This problem appeared after the last update of PS and LR.

    Thanks and regards

Try the reinstallation as desribed and see if it’s help. A reinstallation can help on several issues.

Try to reset the Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
