Hi guys,I'm facing this problem of default timeout of 15seconds, I'm running a loop, but it is not an infinite loop. It just takes very long to process and this error will occur. How do I go about solving it?

I'm working with Adobe AIR 2.0, the TLF 2.0, and FlashPlayer 10.1I'm having some problems with TextAlign.JUSTIFY and textAlignLast.I'm bringing in some content from another application, and displaying it using a custom class built around a TextFlow. This works well and most common text formatting (bold, italic, font, colour, etc) is displaying correctly. I've created a test document with some Lipsum fields that test each of the justification settings. The document should look like this when rendered:What I actually get, however, is this:Note that while full justification and right last line justification have worked correctly, left last line justification and center last line justification (the two fields in the bottom left corner and bottom middle) have not.My code to set the justifcation is a pretty simple switch, which sets the formatting on a paragraph object: switch (Justification) &nbs
Hi,Ho can I correctly place an image in a textflow? My images look like they have padding-bottom.Here you can see the seleccion bellow the image:Here you can the that the image is positioned too high in relation to the text line selection.I guess this can be fixd in the textflow marpup, here is what I'm using:var markup2:String = "<TextFlow xmlns='http://ns.adobe.com/textLayout/2008' fontSize='16' textIndent='0' paragraphSpaceAfter='0' paddingTop='0' paddingBottom='0' paddingLeft='0' paddingRight='0' lineHeight='100%' >" + "<TextLayoutFormat color='#ff0000' id='hoverOverBrand' />" + "<TextLayoutFormat color='#00ff0F' id='mouseDownOverBrand' textDecoration='underline' />" +
Hello.I have a preloader that extends SparkDownloadProgressBar and it should be using embedded fonts.First I tried using spark text controls and they are all giving me "Error: No class registered for interface 'mx.styles::IStyleManager2."My assumption was that at the preloader stage loading is not complete, so sdk is not loaded and I was continuing to useflash.text.TextField.However, when I trying to [Embed()) a font nothing happens.Have anyone experienced the same?--tork
Hi - When I try to load fonts from a diff domain, it loads but when I call a font.regiserfont, it throws a AS error. In the main application, this is what I do to load the fonts.var loaderContext:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext();loaderContext.checkPolicyFile = true;var testFontloader:Loader = new Loader();testFontloader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT, function(e:Event):void{ var FontLibrary:Class = e.target.applicationDomain.getDefinition("testFont") as Class; Font.registerFont(FontLibrary.font);});var testFontReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest(model.serverLocation + ServiceURLConstants.ASSETS_PATH+"/embeddedFonts/testFont.swf");testFontloader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,CheckFontLoadComplete);testFontloader.load(testFontReq,loaderContext); And it throws an exception while it tries to register the font and it does not register
HiMy problem is with the size of the xml that is exported from my text flow.I am just writting the two words bold and italic, make the first bold and second italic in my text flow and the XML exported is following....<TextFlow color="0x0" direction="ltr" fontFamily="Arial" fontSize="18" lineBreak="explicit" paddingBottom="10" paddingLeft="10" paddingRight="10" paddingTop="10" whiteSpaceCollapse="preserve" xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/textLayout/2008"><p><span fontWeight="bold">B</span><span alignmentBaseline="useDominantBaseline" backgroundAlpha="1" backgroundColor="transparent" baselineShift="0" blockProgression="tb" breakOpportunity="auto" cffHinting="horizontalStem" color="0x0" columnCount="auto" columnGap="20" columnWidth="auto" digitCase="default" digitWidth="default" direction="ltr" dominantBaseline="auto" firstBaselineOffset="auto" fontFamily="Arial" fontLookup="device" fontSize="18" fontS

First we use RichEditableText.getFormatOfRange() to retreive a TextLayoutFormat object. Then we attempt to determine the fonts used in that selection with TextLayoutFormat.fontFamily. This works fine if only one font is set on the selection. However, if you type in one font, then change the font and type some more, and select the text containing both fonts, TextLayoutFormat.fontFamily will return null. I would hope that it could return a comma-separated list or array of fonts used in the selection. Is this a known bug/limitation, and if so, is there a workaround or any plan to address this in the future? This kind of thing is a common use case for our rich text input, and I need to figure out which fonts are selected.I am still using the TLF framework that came with Flex 4.0.Adam
Hi,I want to have an external button that will insert a formatted SpanElement at current position. How can I insert my own elements in the required(cursor) position?Element might look like:var span:SpanElement = new SpanElement();span.text = text; span.setStyle('custom',true);span.color = '0xFF0000';Thank you
I'm cross posting this here in the hopes that it might help someone else with a similar problems. We have been dealing with this bug for a while and really took a lot of time and a second set of eyes to figure out what was happening here. We have a web based system deployed on Weblogic which uses Spring Framework to manage our business tier, and Flex for our web clients. We provide our service object layer directly to Flex clients through AMF remote object serialization and usually let the default exception handling in Spring do its thing. When invoking a remote object through BlazeDS which starts and subsquently rolls back a transaction, BlazeDS attempts to acquire as much information about the Exception Chain as possible and then serializes it to the Flash client. In doing so, it gets an instance/ or instances of ClassDescriptor (on the object that caused the rollback). It then attempts to use JavaBe
I wrote some Gumbo prototypes recently and found it confusing that skinStates are independent of component states (currentState). I tried to imagine scenario when host component state should be different than its skin state but I cant find any. I have found that component states are used in item renderes, which in my opinion violates of skinning concept (see ARB http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Gumbo+Updated+Item+Renderer ) What do you think about syncing surrentState with skinState? In such a case it would be easier for developer to migrate from MXML inline item renderer to fully skinnable one as states of both, inline MXML component and MXML skin, will be the same.

Supposedly, when in paragraph mode, you can begin a new paragraph by pressing "Enter" in Windows. But, when I press "enter" it commits and takes me out of paragraph editing mode. This is very frustrating. What is the remedy?
Hi - We have a text area, where we can type in text, change font, size etc. The change font or color uses applyLeafFormat. It works fine if there is some text. If the span text is empty, change font or size does not work. here is what am doing for change font size. Pls guide me whats wrong and why is it not working if there is no text . var tlf:TextLayoutFormat = new TextLayoutFormat(); tlf.fontSize = int(newFontSize); var editManager:IEditManager = textFlow.interactionManager as IEditManager; textFlow.interactionManager.selectAll(); edit
I created a separate Flex project to isolate a section of my application that I developed using TLF from my main project. In this isolated project and in my main project, I reference a Flex Library in my workspace that is acting as my font library. I am using an external CSS file that is referenced by <fx:Style> in the <s:WindowedApplication> file. When I run this project, it renders the styles (color and size) and the embedded font as expected. After about a week of developing this isolated project I integrated it in the main app. Everything worked as it did in the isolated app, even the styles (color and size) except the embedded font fails to be rendered! After troubleshooting for a day and a half on this I cannot think of any reason why this is. There are FTE components, right next to my TLF component, that are using the same embedded font that the TLF component is trying to use! Is there something I should be looking for that will in
I have checked out the sample applications from http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/cairngorm3/trunk/samples/insync/ repository, but these samples reference Cairngorm libraries, which are missing. What versions should I use to be able to build these samples?best regards Zdenek
Hello folksI am trying to implement a simple flex application using Cairngorm 3, Parsley 2.3.0 and flex 4.1.I have a confusion about how to separate logic from design which is Cairngorm 3's motto. Here is the sample code from one of my presentation model which deals with logic.private function displayImage(image:Image):void { image.alpha = 0; imageContainer.addChild(image); this.loadedImages.push(image); TweenLite.to(preloader, 1, {alpha:0, onComplete:removeOldImage}); TweenLite.to(image, 1
Hi,I have a problem with our flexunit test suite. We created an AMF messaging layer and communicate with our server over HTTPS. Works fine in the browser with manual testing. We developed a unit test suite for the messaging layer and wanted to test the secure communication as integration tests. I automated the test suite with ANT which works fine on my Ubuntu even in headless mode. Unfortunately the secure communication tests fail with a timeout. The reason for this is an "Unkown CA" error. I tried to store the certificate in the default Java cacert but that didn't do the trick. Does anybody know what to do to make it work?Thanks- Tilman
I'm trying to use the functions available through the TextLayoutImporter class to create elements from XML. For example, I would like to use this xml:var chase_xml:XML = new XML('<p>chase</p>');in conjunction with the "createParagraphFromXML" method of the TextLayoutImporter class to create a ParagraphElement that I can add to an existing TextFlow using the "addChild" method of the TextFlow class.Unfortunately, I keep getting an empty paragraph rather than the paragraph I am sending into the importer. The code I've been tinkering with:var _headerTextFlow = new TextFlow(); //using the same config as the TextFlow I already created, since that is what I understand the purpose of the config to be? I also, unsuccessfully, tried setting it to nullvar new_importer = new TextLayoutImporter(_headerTextFlow.configuration);var spellParagraph:ParagraphElement = new_importer.createParagraphFromXML(spellXML);trace('get text: '+spellParagraph.getText()); //this traces as 'get t
Hello,I have an application that allows the user to drag and drop text elements into a design and modify their content (text, font, color, etc..)They then save this which takes the textflow information and saves it to the server using XML, then when I want to bring up a saved design, it reads that xml from the server and renders it out on the design. All works great except when I have a text item that uses multiple formats, for examplehere is some textwhere text is bold, but the rest is not. If I have any spaces in my text before or after the format change, they disapear on the round trip to the server. Is there an easy way to replace the spaces with non breaking space entities or something similar before sending it off to the server? Thanks
