FrameMaker

Running FM2017. Copying and pasting between two documents. Switching between the two is becoming increasingly problematic as it is almost constantly crashing now. This happens regardless of what two documents are open.Additionally, a document pulled onto a separate screen look like this...It can only be minimized or maximized and can not be re-sized using the corner arrows.

I'm copy/pasting some blocks of text from .fm files into another environment for testing, and I've just realised that I'm ending up with more in the clipboard than I have on screen – because there is conditional text in the .fm source with the condition set to Hidden. Any easy way of preventing this? it would of course be easier for me if I could just paste what I see …

Hi all, first time posting here.I have some templates that we had made years ago that have stuck with us through several upgrades and we are now using in Framemaker 2017.  They still work fine for print and PDF outputs.  However, I would like to start publishing them to EPUB and HTML5.  I've been playing around with HTML5 so far and everything looks fine, except our "Bullet1" format comes across as an "n" instead of a bullet.I've sorted out that this is due to it being defined as a wingding font (n presumably) in the master template.  I'm just not clued in on either how to change it or what to change it to.Any advice would be appreciated.  I would rather not just start fresh with new templates as these do what we need them to do for the most part.Thanks,Mike

Is it possible to insert a reference/hyperlink in one FrameMaker document to a section in another FrameMaker document (e.g. Refer to section 2. in document "B") whereby if the section changes in the second in the second document, the reference/hyperlink will be updated in the first document?Thanks!

Hallo together,we use FrameMaker Version 11 for our cliche and create a ps-file for the manufacturer. We use the this printer:But now, if we try to import this ps-file in another program, we receive a error message, like thisor thisIf I created a ps-file (same printer) in another program (Macromedia FreeHand) i can import this file with no problems.So, i have no idea, what the problem is.Can anybody help me?Thanks a lotCorinna

hi,the numbering of the tiles in the book is correct but while genarating out of the book a table of content the numbering of the tiles fail.every title_1 has the number 1 title_2 and 3 work perfectly.in the templatetitle_1TOC has T:< =0>< =0>< >title_2TOC has T:.<n+>< =0>< >title_3TOC has T:.<n>.<n+>< >the TOC in the referecepage looks like followingwhat is wrong, what do i need to change?thanks and best regardsbeat

Now my team is outside the main office and it's time to get into a cloud-based storage system that everyone can access files from outside the corporate LAN. We use unstructured FrameMaker (2015) and ePublisher Express 2016.1, so I'm looking for a system that would allow anyone to "check out" a book and edit/publish it from anywhere.Recommendations?thanks!tom

How do you repeat a figure title with multiple sheets in structured frame:  EX: Fig 1 (Sheet 1 of 3)I cannot find any information on how to do this in Framemaker.  I assume you create a internal ref for the title, but I have no idea how to do the sheets.

Hi,I was trying to run a script to extract all Paragraphs in a fm file with a specific tag name and I could see that I did not extract texts for many paragraphs.However when I saved the fm file as a mif file, and on running my script hereafter I was able to extract all paragraphs including paragraphs that were hidden.Please let me know why is there such a difference between running on a FM file and a MIF File. I have tried several icon graphics. For the glossary tab, I set it to false in the edit option and it still shows up.

Here's an example. None of this is italic in the Framemaker document. But when I save to pdf, Every instance of Adobe Garamond Pro Bold gets converted to italic. But it's only the bold - the regular survives intact. In the past it's happened with other fonts. Illumination?Thanks,Jack

I was installed FM12 (licensed) in my laptop. Due to physical damage, i swapped hard disk to standby laptop. Then the trial version of FM12 is started. After getting my original Laptop, i connected same hard disk and tried to launch FM12 and other Adobe applications. All the applications are converted to trial and asking for license activation which i don't have (lost). Please help.Best regards,Manjunath

I try to reinstalled FM 2015 after it crashed several times. FM 2015 worked fine for several months, I made some books with it. Than, from one day to another it didn´t start anymore. Now it says that I do not have a full version and I connot open my books anymore that I made with FM 2015. Even new download and reinstall doesn´t chance the situation. It prentends that I do not have a full version, but I have!!!. Support cannot help but says that the activation is correct for FM 2015 Full version. SN is correctly filled in.It seems strange, that after deinstalling, new download and reinstalling he still knows my old projects, but when I want to open them, he says that I have to buy the full version. Is there any .ini file that the desinstallation doesn´t kill, so that even after a new installation FM is confused???So what can I do??? I must continue my work.Thanks for helping mePeter

In Framemaker, can the product keyword that is stored in an index marker be extracted with an association to the models or parts# it references?

This is an issue that we've only noticed since the last big round of Adobe updates, but when distilling a PDF from Framemaker (using Distiller XI Pro, v. 11.0.179) little tick marks/dashes appear appear where some tabs are located with the Frame file.  When viewed in Acrobat Pro, they are actually This is a consistent issue with every distillation that was not an issue prior to the past several weeks.  There don't seems to be any font or incompatibility issues.  We are using the same fonts and settings that we've used for years and years.  Has anyone come across this issue, and if so, reached a resolution for it?Thank you.Jay ShawAdministrative Rules Analyst / Publishing SpecialistState of Idaho, Dept. of Administration

I'm using FM 12 (12.0.4.445) on Windows 7 machine.I'm experiencing a rather annoying problem. Some command buttons (but not all of them) at the bottom of some dialog boxes (but not all of them) are not displaying. For some reason the frame of the box does not extend all the way down to reveal the full button(s).
