finding a clip from project

Hi, I am a documentary editor and as everyone else I have the problem with the risk of using the clips twice.

The finder is ok but could be more interesting to have the possibility to search the clip in project, right click it an find an option which brings you straight to the clip in the timeline. That could be also useful when you know a clip and do not remember exactly where in the timeline is.

Another possibility is also to see from project, right clicking, the time code which show you where the clip is used, and if the same clip is used many time, the number of times is used.

I hope you can unterstand what I am suggesting

Best regards

@Titocaput good news! This already exists, it's just a little bit tucked away. In the Timeline you can click in the wrench menu and turn on "Show Duplicate Frame Markers". This will put a color bar on top of any clip if part of it is also used somewhere else in the timeline. This helps as you are editing to let you know if you use a portion of a clip that is already in the timeline.

Also, in the Project panel you can go to List view, right click on the top of the columns and choose "Metadata Display". In that dialog search for "Video Usage" and "Audio Usage" and check the box to turn on those columns. Now you will have a column in your project showing you how many times each clip is used in a sequence, and if you click that number it shows you a list of the sequences and where, and you can click on it to jump to that point in the sequence.
