Lightroom Classic

I have been scanning a lot of family photos, so I thought it might be useful to try the People feature. At this time, I have 8727 photos scanned (not done yet!), 1935 Named people faces, and 11,759 Unnamed people faces. As you can see, a daunting task. I would like to give some feedback on this to improve, speed up the process. 1) Be able to select which face is shown in the Named People. I saw that someone already asked if this can be done and the answer was no, so would like to explicitly list this as a suggestion. My 46 year old son has his baby photo showing. Others have photos showing that would make the proverbial drivers license a glamor shot. Makes no sense. 2) I think this broke in the recent update from a day ago: when I double click on a Named Person, the individual faces have NO right-click menu. How do we fix mistakes? There should be an option to remove faces from a Named Person collection. 3) When I am working in the list of Unnamed People, there is an option to remove t

At smart collection rules, 'Collection' added by 13.2, More function I want that "is empty" and "isn't empty". "is empty" selects all photos NOT contained by any collections. "isn't empty" selects all photos contained by any collections.

Would like to see Sub-menu like the Develop. This will shorten the root menu.Possible examples of submenu grouping highlite in colors.Personally I seldom use camera settings in my filter presets nor Creator, copyright and job.Attached is the present where there's only sub-menu for Develop (which is good). Hopefully the development team will add one or two groupings .. or even have a Windows like Explorer Quick Access group users could add to for frequently used selection.

Develop Module does not allow for lens profile corrections of TIFF Files.

Add the 'Date Time Original' EXIF data value to the list of availabe sort selection criteria on the Library tab. This should be both the date and time value sorted as one field. 

Super specific, but a color calibrator for the colorblind, there's only 5 types and only 4 would require a shift. 

At today to apply the settings of an existing Correction to another existing one we must:(1) preset the settings in the source Correction(2) apply that newly made Local Adjustment Preset to the destination correction(3) delete that newly created preset (it was only meant to do the task at hand AND not meant to be kept forever) This workaround is complicated and long. I suggest to implement a "Copy/Paste Correction Settings" option in the Masking contextual right click menu and in the "Tools" menu   If no settings have been copied then the option to Paste Settings would not be usable.   I no correction is selected then obviously the options would be unusable in the "Tools" menu.   . 

Lightroom Classic is an excellent tool for managing metadata and keywords; however, it still lacks some features that make handling large amounts of keywords challenging. 1) When dealing with thousands of keywords and synonyms in different languages (such as animal species in Dutch, English, and scientific names), locating the desired keyword can become arduous. It would be beneficial if the input field used for filtering existing keywords could incorporate a "contains" expression and include synonyms. Although John Ellis's AnyTag plugin offers a viable alternative, this type of functionality should ideally be an integral part of Lightroom itself. Enhancements to the keyword hierarchy filtering would greatly improve user experience.2a) Currently, entering multiple words functions as an OR expression so sometimes you get a lot of results. I am using the current LrC 10.3 on Win10.  There seems to be no way to use the text search and make it case sensitive.  For example, if I want to search for BIG I don't want to get big, Big, biG, etc.  I just want BIG.   For years I have wanted a case sensitive search in Lightroom.  Here is a very quick and dirty mockup where I added the Ignore case option on the left side for text searches:   If you want case insensitive searches (what you get now) then check the option.  Adobe could even make it already checked by default:   I think this is a trivial thing for Adobe to do when they do their SQL queries on the catalog.  It is really surprising that they seem to not already have it since in almost all programs that do any text searching it is a standard option.

At today is impossible to directly duplicate a Mask with the SDK. Please implement: LrDevelopController.duplicateMask () and LrDevelopController.duplicateMaskTool () .

Suppose an item of any given color appears in two images.  I'd like to "load" a dropper with that item from one image and click on it in the other making the color match exactly and have the rest of the image adjusted with the same hue changes that were used to match the item in question.  I'd like it to work just like the white balancing tool, but be able to choose the source color rather than being locked into grey.

Lightroom ignores files that are below the photos on top of the stack when you select photos in a folder for rename when the stack are collapsed (default). This presents an extra uncessary step to remember to expand all stacks, batch rename and then collapse stack again.Most (ie not all) photos in a stack are in a sequence base on capture time anyway either in a series of bracketed shots or a defined time duration. So any renaming of the photos in any folder will include all the photos in a stack and renaming them in sequence would be a given.Stacks could be already created from the merge process and I would premise one would naturally want the premerge photos to be named sequentially from the merged photo.Propose a way to default this like in a Preferences setting to rename selected stacks with all photos inside the stacks to be renamed together without having to expand the stacks. Similar how Lightroom handles automatic adding of keyword to enhanced images in the preferences > fil

When the lens blur works well on masking off the background I found many instances the background isn't sufficiently blur even at max and using point focus. This often happens to photos with busy background like a street scene. Propose to add an extended blur or a second blur mask to further smoothen the distracting background color gradients. 

I shoot many high volume events and use a separate catalog for each. It would be very helpful if the location of the most recent export directory could be cached per catalog. Currently, Lightroom only stores the most recent export location regardless of which catalog you are using.   For example, I might have events A, B, C and D. When someone places an order from Event A, I want to export to the finals folder for event A. However, when I open the catalog for Event B, it still defaults to exporting to Event A's folder. This is a ton of extra clicks for me.   Premiere exports already work like this; the export location is stored for that individual project & sequence.

Hi,   I sometimes use live view with Lightroom Classic on my Windows 11 desktop but I noticed the secondary windows (camera command, interactive view) are linked to Lightroom Classic main window and can be displayed separately. Windows OS allows a secondary window is detached of the main window, I think it would be a great improvement to have Lightroom Classic allow user to have the little secondary windows available even when Lightroom main window is not displayed and keep the access to camera commands. This is a common feature in many phot / video softwares. What do you think of such an improvement ?   Regards,  Pascal

Ich habe folgendes Problem, für das man mir im Chat keine Lösung vorschlagen konnte: Über meine Kameras werden alle Bilder mit meinem Namen und  meiner Anschrift gespeichert. Diese Metadaten werden von LrC gespeichert. Die Folge davon ist, dass alle Suchbegriffe, die den Namen meines Wohnortes oder den Straßennamen (in meinem Fall "Frankfurter Str" enthalten immer dazu führen, dass alle meine Bilder angezeigt werden. Es macht für mich also keinen Sinn, nach dem Begriff "Frankfurt" zu filtern, obwohl ich die Bilder damit getagt hatte, da automatisch auf allen Bildern meiner Bibliothek dieser Begriff enthalten ist.  <   Frankfurter Str. >  Ich wünsche mir daher, dass Lightroom die Anschrift in den Metadaten ignoriert. I have clients that want to find images that fit their application in a particular room.  It would be nice to be able to place an image of the room in the background of either library or develop mode and then cycle through the pictures to see which image fit the room best.

In the import dialogue in Lightroom 3 on Windows the drive letters A: and B: does not show up. I have A: assigned to an HDD and B: assigned to an SSD where I like to save my DNG files. (It was a VERY long time ago since those drive letters were reserved for floppy drives). My suggestion is to make all drive letters assigned to an attached storage device visible as a destination in the import dialogue.

Hello everyone.Currently when we duplicate a Mask we can't immediately rename it.We must first duplicate THEN rename2 history steps are created/needed for no real reason. I suggest to immediately allow to rename as we duplicate a Mask. E.g.   At this point the user can simply "Enter" or click "Ok" to commit the default duplicate name  OR the user can instead rename the Mask as something else.  Instead of two history steps this would create only one step which reduces the clutter, keeps the catalog lighter and overall is more efficient. .

when photographing in fast paced situations  it's hard to always make sure the camera is level, eventhough the camera does have a Digital level gauge (Virtual Horizon) . I assume that the tilting angle is also recorded somehow in the exif, so it would be amazing if one of the options to  Auto-straighten would be according to "camera level indicator".   

I would sometimes find it helpful to make a note of exactly what has been done for extensive edits. Or where the difference lies compared to another image. For this reason, I am missing an option in the development module to add a note or comment to an image.

Lightroom: Many times while working with a large number of images (any amount for that matter) while viewing using the filmstrip,especially while in the Slideshow or Loupview, but really any module. To very simply have a "HOME" and an "END" key. To very simply take you back to the beginning or the end of the filmstrip. One click, Done! No more scrolling and scrolling ! This would be HUGE! dj

The Color Mixer sliders are great, but they don't offer as much control as a series of curves when altering HSL. For example, if I wanted to target a range of hue between orange and red, I can't.  The screenshot below, from a video application, shows the type of curves that make these adjustments possible: Just as with the Color Mixer sliders, I can take an input hue and rotate it. Unlike the Color Mixer sliders, I can decide the precise range of the input hue(s) and create a smooth adjustment. Changing the Color Mixer sliders into curves would still give intuitive controls, but far more powerful.
