I upload Iphone photos from my phone to the LR Cloud using the LR Phone App. I then go into LrC and let them sync back down to my desktop. No problem so far. Once the photo files are safely on my desktop I unsync from the cloud. I then assign keywords and other metatdata whilst in LrC. My next step is to sync the photos back to the Cloud as smart previews. I do this by dragging the photos to an already synced collection. However, they don't sync. They try for about 3 mins and then they remove themselves from the synced collection. However, they still appear under "All synced Photos" and the blue sync ball continues to spin. However, when I remove these photos from "All synced photos" the green tick immediately appears. To sync these photos I have to restart LrC and then again drag the photos the the synced collection. They then sync properly in seconds. I should add it makes no difference whether I delete smart previews, delete the deleted original files from the deleted folder, save t
How do we change the hotkeys in Lightroom? The current W and Shift W are backwards, Masks, at least in my experience over the past 7 years using Lightroom, are 99.999999999999999999% used more than using the white balance tool, which gives the wrong color most the time anyways. In 7 years using lightroom daily, I think I’ve used that white balance selected maybe once or twice. But every single photo I need to use the masks and when simply pushing one button for the other tabs but requiring to hover my pinky over the shift and remember to hold shift before pushing W to get to the masks is insanely annoying. So we need options to either change it ourselves, or the developers need to swap this. I can’t imagine most other photographers or editors are constantly using the white balance dropper tool thing every single photo when they copy paste the settings and VERY rarely is it off slightly on the rest of the photos in that set, but masks on the other hand are almost always off and nee
I am trying to change a whole lot of virtual copies to ‘set copy as original’ in one go for Lightroom Classic on PC. I know the standard way; select image > photo > ‘set copy as original’ - but this can only do one at a time.I have discovered if you select all the virtual copies to change, you can leave out the selection step which speed the process up by a fair bit. The step goes as follow: select all virtual copies so they are highlighted > photos drop down > ‘set copy to original’;now instead of selecting the next virtual copy, adobe deselects the converted virtual copy automatically, and you can go straight back to the photo drop down > ‘set copy to original’ without needing to selecting the next copy, and continue this till all selected copies have been converted. unless there is another quicker way I am missing?
Compare view often incorrectly labels a photo as having an embedded preview. To reproduce on LR 15.5 / Mac OS 26.4.1 (see the attached screen recording): 1. Download and open the attached catalog. Observe that Catalog Settings > Standard Preview Size is 2880. 2. Right-click folder "test-pics" and do Synchronize Folder, selecting Show Import Dialog Before Importing. Set the import option File Handling > Build Previews to Embedded & Sidecar. Observe in Grid view that X.ARW is marked with the embedded-preview badge (correct). 3. Do Library > Previews > Build 1:1 Previews, selecting Build All. Observe that neither photo has the embedded-preview badge (correct). 4. With X.ARW selected, go to Compare view. Observe that it says Embedded Preview at the bottom of X.ARW (incorrect). 5. Go to Grid view. 6. Select X.jpg and go to Compare view. Observe that X.jpg is labeled with Embedded Preview (incorrect). 7. Go to Grid view and restart LR. 8. Select X.ARW and go to Compare view.
If you hit the escape key in the Import dialog, the dialog is exited and all organization is lost. The expected behavior would be to exit Loupe View and return to Grid View (staying within the Import function) as happens in the Library Module. I have muscle memory for this behavior and I keep destroying my organizational work within the Import dialog--(ie: checkmark selections for "Include in import") Either make the behavior consistent between the modes, or add a warning that "All selections will be lost, exit anyway?" Thanks, --David Aughenbaugh
While working on a project doing a lot of parameters sync, all the pictures suddenly disappeared from the directory. There were 258 pictures in this directory. The directory on the disk is also empty.I have copied back the files from a backup and re-sync the directory in Lightroom.I had to do again the modifications I have done before.
Select a number of photos say about 200 on the film strip. auto sync on Hit auto to adjust the settings automatically. Can be done on library or develop module does not matter to the issueLightroom will adjust the settings automatically and you can go to different photos and the automatic settings would have been applied to all the photos. Now adjust one setting on one photo with auto sync on (eg. bring the vibrance or saturation down back to 0 or a different amount….in this case vibrance to -5)Browse the rest of the photos … The rest of the photos should now have auto adjustments applied + the vibrace slider to where you adjusted it manually. However when I do this other than some photos that are in immediate to left and right of the photo that was active while I did the vibrance adjustment the rest of the photos has the auto adjustments back down to 0 and the only vibrace is at -5. This seems to affect tone and vibrance saturation.. not presence (probably because auto does not affect
If I have an ordinary collection with a custom order and I add photos to it, they appear at the end, as I would expect. I can immediately drag the photos to the desired position in the custom order. But if I have a published collection with a custom order and I add photos to it, they appear in a separate section, New Photos to Publish. There is no way I can immediately drag them to the desired position in the custom order. I must first republish the collection, which correctly places the new photos at the end. Then I can drag them to the desired position in the custom order, where they will stay the next time I republish.Likewise, if I modify a photo, it jumps to the Modified Photos to Republish section. Next time I republish, it will be restored to the correct position in the custom order. However, during the remainder of the editing session (prior to republishing), it is not in correct sequence but is off in a separate section, so I can't do things such as advance to the next photo in
Yes, this exact question has been raised many times in the past and those posts have all been closed as “answered” without any resolution. This is still an issue.I open LrC, import and make edits. LrC sits idle with computer running for at least an hour. Try to close LrC and it spends several minutes "Writing Metadata Changes into XMP" before the app exits. What is LrC doing while idle after the last edit was made that it now needs to do when I’m trying to shut down the computer? This is unacceptably poor performance but vaguely understandable as edits were in fact made. Why are the XMP writes not happening during idle time rather than forced immediately at exit? The same delay occurs without making edits. Open LrC, make no edits and immediately try to open another catalog. LrC shows the "Writing Metadata Changes into XMP" message for several minutes before finally restarting with the other catalog. This is after LrC spent several minutes "Writing Metadata Changes into XMP" p
I’m running a printing workshop and had to setup a group of mac and windows computers to print on my Epson P900. The printer is using the latest firmware. All the Tahoe computers failed, everything else passed, here is what happened. For each computer, we went to the Epson support page and downloaded the driver for their operating system. None of the computers had connected to the P900 before, so there were no old drivers present. Most of the Mac computers were running Tahoe 26.6.1 or 26.6.2, some were on Sequoia, PC’s were on Win11.We ran the driver installers without issue. For all the Mac’s, we removed the AirPrint printers and added the Epson versions all went well.We opened the Print module in Lightroom and started to setup a print. As soon as I selected Page Setup and chose the Epson P900, something was sent to the printer and it started operating. The printer raises an error on its screen asking for the roll paper adapter to be added. The error can be cleared down and the printer
LrC --> Library --> library Filter: when I set on filter type "raw" and I view date by date, with every change of date the file type filter switches to "all types", so it does not stick on type "raw". Can I keep it fixed on a certain type?
Oftentimes, I cull my images in Lightroom and rate my selections from 1–5 stars. Once I’m finished, I want to filter the images to show anything rated one star or higher. However, Lightroom frequently defaults the filter back to “equal to”, so clicking one star only displays images rated exactly one star, causing me to miss images rated two stars or higher.I recommend adding an option to lock the star-rating filter setting to “greater than or equal to” so Lightroom remembers the user’s preference instead of continually reverting to “equal to.”Rating is equal to - This auto populates all the time and sometimes I dont notice.
In the next version of Lightroom could they implement a better spellcheck? The spellcheck currently in Lightroom3 does not work as well as spellcheck seen in Photo Mechanic or the basic spellcheck used on a Mac.Also could they make the caption box larger or the ability to increase the size. The current caption box is to small and makes it hard to see what is being typed? In a nut shell could they make the next Lightroom more like Photo Mechanic in terms of captioning and adding metadata ?
It would be great if LrC had a spell checker. It should notify the user of spelling errors in text fields in the Book module and for title and caption fields in the Library module. Maybe make the spell checker activity an option in LrC Preferences. Irony: This “Request a feature” text box has a spell checker!
In the Print Module, I select a paper profile and make a print. If I move back to another module like Library or Develop to select/change a photo and then return to the Print Module, it has forgotten the paper profile and I must re-select it. It used to remember the profile in much earlier versions. I have 15.5 of LrC running on Win 11. I know 15.4 had this bug and I was hoping that you had fixed it.
I installed the latest update a few days ago. This is for Lightroom Classic 15. Ever since that time, when I try to read metadata from files, it never completes. I can highlight 5 images at a time and successfully get it to complete, but if over 6 images, it starts and never completes.

Lightroom is incredibly slow to un-useable. I can use LrC with no problems on my M2 MacBook with 24Gb RAM Memory. I have cleared cache and cleaned my hard rive so plenty of space. all photos held on external 1Tb hard drive as well.
Several of my Clients are trying to move their Smart Collections Workflow from Lightroom Classic to Adobe Bridge. I've been asking for the ability to export LightRoom Classic's Smart Collections to Bridge. I have just completed the working Script to do so! If you have interest, reply to this post.
Has anyone else run into this problem and were you able to resolve?
Since recent Lightroom Desktop updates, rapidly culling imported photos has become noticeably slower.Steps to reproduce:1. Open a large series of imported photos in Detail view.2. Enable Caps Lock for automatic advance.3. Press and hold Z to flag photos as Pick, or X to flag them as Reject.4. Keep the key pressed to move continuously through the series.Expected result:Lightroom should advance through the photos quickly and smoothly while the key is held down. Previously, this worked almost like watching a high-FPS burst as a video.Actual result:The flow now repeatedly stutters and stalls. Lightroom pauses between photos before continuing, making this fast culling workflow much slower than before.System:Lightroom Desktop, cloud-based version 9.5macOS 26.6.1MacBook Pro with Apple M3 Max and 128 GB memoryAdditional information:I work with Sony α1 II cameras, producing RAW files of approximately 55 MB each. Lightroom previously handled rapid culling of these files smoothly. My MacBook Pro h

Hello, Since upgrading to my new very powerful system, Lightroom Classic (version 15.0) has been performing extremely slowly. Issue description: There are significant delays (several seconds, sometimes up to 10 seconds) before Lightroom responds, particularly when using the following tools: • Masking (people, subject, background)• Color mixer / color correction• Crop overlay tool All basic adjustments (exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, etc.) work normally. Other Adobe applications (After Effects, Photoshop, etc.) run completely smoothly. My previous, weaker system did not have these problems.
