Wondering if I'm allowed to modify and save the flash ami "adobe-flashmediaserver-useast/fms-4.0.1.8011-centos"?It'd be nice to not have to reinstall and configure everything every time I run an instance.

FMS *sigh* FMLI am trying to get live streaming running on my windows 7 machine (as full admin; permissions shouldn't be an issue)- Windows install- No serial/Development server version- Yes Appache- Admin, password...- Default, default, default...ect, GO.Out of box, nothing worked - localhost just laughed at me with a blank ("could not connect") page and the FMS admin page was no better "Login attempt to the server below failed...etc".  Then I found that [root]/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf came straight from the installer like this# Please see httpd.conf.orig for the configuration of a default# (non-FMS) installation of apache.Listen 8134# If you plan to run FMS as root on linux, you _must_ specify a# valid user, with access to the FMS installation direction, orFirst off - Isn't that supposed to be set to 80?  Also, httpd.conf had no definition for ServerRoot - I am no apache expert (that cannot be overstated) but everytime i've used it, i've needed to define this.Anyway, I fig

Hi, I need to live stream 1 lecture per week to a very limited amount of people (roughly 20). Can anyone give me the best source for hosting. Meaning where should I host FMS and where should I host the site contents?I dont have much money, just wanted to take the cheapest route possible.Thank you.

Just tried to order FMIS 4 but it's not possible to upgrade from FMSS 3.5 to FMIS 4. I know it was previously possible to upgrade from streaming editions to FMIS 3.5 and we paid only the upgrade fee (I think $3500) vs the full license fee ($4500). Now it doesn't appear as if we can upgrade from FMSS 3.5 to FMIS 4 and we have to buy a brand new license. Why is this so? If it's not technically possible to upgrade from FMSS 3.5 to FMIS 4 then why can't we at least get a discount for the money we paid on previous version licenses?I have a few FMSS licenses and I'm choosing not going to upgrade to FMIS 4 because of this.On a side note, it looks as if it's possible to upgrade FMSS 3.5 to FMIS 3.5 and then FMIS 3.5 to FMIS 4. Of course you pay for two upgrades then.Can Adobe shed some light on this?

Hi, When a user refreshes the page in IE9, the disconnect handler isn't called. So in an application like a fms lobby, a user seems to stay in the list when he actually isn't there anymore. Does anyone know a solution?Thanks,Thomas

My server is running Windows XP. I have a website that is currently running on Apache 2.2 and PHP. Without FMS, my website works perfectly. When I install FMS, the FMS installation provides an Apache install. So I uninstalled my current Apache/PHP versions and installed only FMS. After installation, http://localhost/ takes me to the FMS page where it shows sample videos through different connections. Therefore I know the installation was successful. After that, I install PHP and set the httpd.conf to include the PHP configuration and restart FMS. After the restart, I import my website into the webroot folder and go back to http://localhost/ so I can see my website. What shows up is my website as usual, but

While testing p2p in different Internet connection modes, I have come  across the following problem. When a mobile operator modem is being  used, NetGroup.Neighbor.Connect event doesn't get created: NetConnection.Connect.Success NetGroup.Connect.Success That's it. I have been trying to block incoming connections with fms 4 ent for the live application.I set allowedSWFdomains.txt and allowedHTMLdomains.txt to  x.com so that I block every domain.I don't want any connection to come in and setting the domain to x.com blocks everything when I tryto load. Except using FMLE it allows this no matter what you set in the allowedSWF or allowedHTMLwhat kind of security is this. Does that mean anyone with FMLE can connect to anyones server.How do I actually block connections?

Help!I have an application that connects people face-to-face for a live stream, and then later combines the two recorded streams from their live interaction. I utilize the InsufficentBandwidth warning to help ensure that each end of my recorded stream is the same length.I've started a test server and installed 4.0.1, but when I simulate low bandwidth conditions in 4.0.1, I do not recieve the same warning with any accuracy, and I usually do not see it at all. Are there new settings that I need to tweak, or is this a bug in the latest release? The issue will prohibit me from upgrading, and apparently there are critical security fixes in 4.0.1Thanks!

We have a customer that is looking to live stream events around our community.  We have done this with our windows media server in the past but he would like to have a flash based player embedded into is web page. we would also store the events so they could be played by viewers of the page.  1) In windows media server you can set up multiple publishing points.  Can this be done with the FMS to have up to 4 live feeds?2) He plans on having 100 to 200 people watching. What type of connection is recommended 100Mb or 1Gb dedicated?  We plan to co-locate this server in a data center located close to us.3) People are talking about the new FMS that supports i-os devices.  has there been a release date posted for this? I am trying to record a 30 second video but the problem is lag times on the buffer. The recorded video when playedback is choppy and also freezes every 2 seconds. Any ideas?

When I unload an application say live for example. And a user loads fmle and goes to load the liveapplication it starts it automatically. How can I prevent this. I want to be able to prevent it from loadingautomatically. When a user reaches their bandwidth limit I want to make sure they can't just use theapplication anyway. Thanks!

I am using FMLE and fms 4 ent. When using fmle to broadcast webcam without audio. It goes really fast.I am on 1gbps connection with nothing else coming to the server at moment. I tested download speedsto and from the server and they are around 700mbs.I have tried all the different audio sample and bit rate settings. All have the same result. Once audio is turnedon there becaomes a 15 second delay. Using::1111/admin/getApps?auser=admin&apswd=mypasswordLists all the apps in defaultVhost but I need to list all apps under a certain vhost how can I do that?Also when trying to load and onload apps for that virual host doesn't work with the main admin user and pass.So when I try to use the user name and password for that vhost I get<level>error</level><code>NetConnection.Connect.Rejected</code><description>Admin user requires valid username and password.</description><timestamp>Wed 13 Apr 2011 05:09:26 PM EDT</timestamp></result>What am I doing wrong?

I am creating an application where multiple people can watch a video at  the same time , but one of those people controls the playback of the  video for everyone. Furthermore, the controller is not always the same  person, it can change if someone leaves or depending on other factors.Along with ad server integration, FMS can do that? please guide

I am new to using flash media server. I setup the server and using the default player for the live stream and when I am not broadcasting I want to display an image instead of the black box that comes up till I start the live broadcast. Is there away to have it pull an image when I am not streaming?

Hello,Is it possible to set up FMS to log uniqe visitors in FMS access log file?I am aware of unique IP and session ID (c-client-id) logging, but these do not represent actual number of viewers. So I was hoping to get something like unique browser ID (a cookie?) which I guess is the closest I can get to the actual number of unique visitors.If anyone has other ideas, how to log unique visitors or a variable close to unique visitors, please share.If browser cookie is the way to go, can someone tell me how to "forward" this to FMS log file?Also, what software would you recommend for FMS log analysis? Im currently using Sawmill, but Im not completely satisfied, because I cannot see how many people have watched the webstream for how many minutes, therefore the reporting is inaccurate. Hi,If RTMPF is used for streaming video among the  peers in the group, what will happen if the peer that publishes the  video to one or more peers has closed the browser or AIR application?Thanks,Sunny
