Hi,We recently encountered a very strange issue that we urgently need help:With FMS 3.5, we created a new live application according to relevant documentations. Within this application (main.asc), on periodically basis (e.g. 45 seconds), we use Stream.get('liveBroadcastStream').play('liveFeedFromFMLE', -1, -1, true) to (potentially) switch between different live feeds published by different FMLE. All work like charm except one annoying/important issue: sometimes (but not always), after a server-side call of Stream.play, we see severe stuttering/choppy video from flash client player.Any help that will lead to the resolution of the problem will be greatly appreciated!Some background information:1. All testing were done within LAN environment with just a few machines which mean loads were very low; so we can rule out bandwidth insufficiency issue. Also CPU usages were low across all computers involved.2. The stuttering and choppyness occurs with the 'liveBroadcastStream', not with the sou
Everywhere i look, there are tutorials and forum threads telling that upon a:ns.publish("hello", "record");when connected to: "rtmp://127.0.0.1/CamsRecorder"at the client side, i whould get a file named "hello.flv" at ....../applications/CamsRecorder/streams/_definst_/But that is not the case. The file appears at ......./applications/liveWHY?after a lot of tinkering with all the configuration files, i got to (fms.ini):LIVE_DIR = C:\Archivos de programa\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\liveChanging that i am able to change where the files will be saved, but this is not how it is supposed to behave.What is going on?Thanks,Alejandro

hi, I have a question.thanks for helping me. 1. I entered a url in a video player : rtmp://10.0.0.1/vod/mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v 2. this video doesn't exist in 10.0.0.1 server. it is exist in 10.0.0.2. 3. the server 10.0.0.1 connect, play, and resource not found. 4. server 10.0.0.1 know that this video exists in 10.0.0.2 ,then redirect the whole url to 10.0.0.2. such as rtmp://10.0.0.2/vod/mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v I research the three plug-ins(access, authorization, file), but I can't find a way to solve it. So I want to ask, does FMS 3.5.2 support this redirection? Thanks again !
I have a series of mp4 videos (H.236 @ 22 fps) streaming from an akamai FMS serve via RTMP protocol in flash player 9+ with AS 3. My goal is to create client side playlists that smoothly switch from one stream to another. I am creating these playlists using a series of netStream.play(filename,start,len) methods. If I don't use an offset for the start parameter, then the stream switches smoothly from one video to the next with not noticeable jump or jerkiness. However if I introduce a start offset, say a few seconds in, I start to see a quick little hiccup or pause between the seams as it switches from one playlist stream to the next. Can anyone shed some light on this, is there something I can do to smooth this out, or should this be expected? thanks, bto
Hi All,Does anyone know if this is possible? I have an FMS server in our production enviroment that contains multiple vHosts, at the moment I have one edge server setup for each host based on the comment at the bottom of this entry:http://livedocs.adobe.com/fms/2/docs/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Parts&file=00000205.htmlWhat I would like to be able to do is to add a new vHost and initiate an edge server process for this without having to restart the FMS service?Thanks
I dont know much about Parsing XML with AS2. Any idea why this doesnt work? "Game can now be started", "In loadXML function" is traced. Unfortunately, "failed to load" is traced too. I put my cards.xml file in the same file as my main.asc.===============================================================Server side (main.asc)===============================================================application.onConnect = function(clientObj){ application.acceptConnection(clientObj); clientObj._uniqueUserID = this.userID; this.userID++; if(this.userID == 2) { trace("Game can now be started"); for (i = 0; i < application.clients.length; i++){ application.clients.call("startGame"); } }&n

Hi all,is it possible to activate SWF verification also without streaming any video or audio?I'm just interested to use FMS to secure my flash application but I don't need to stream any media files.Thank you!
Hi, I'm new to Flash Media Server. I would like to find out what are the types of codes that go to the server side and what remains in the client side for like, example, a multiplayer game application.Does the server side coding deal with the main algorithms, calculations, xml parsing while the client side deals more with the interface? Is that right?
Hi,Is there a way to stream data insted of media files?In particular I'm interested to stream swf files that will be dinamically loaded by another swf client.I see this interesting message talking about how to do this on Wowza but I prefer to find a solution also in FMS to use the SWF Verification feature.Thank you
I've got a page laid out that houses a nightly live webstream of music at a venue. Every night (except Sunday) the stream turns on from 8pm-2am Eastern Standard Time. Some nights, I notice there is nobody watching the stream, yet the stream plays everyday no matter what. In the interest of saving bandwidth per month, I'm trying to figure out how to only stream if somebody is watching.So basically the camera would be recording locally, and when someone connects to the website something tells the server to start broadcasting. If the person leaves, the server stops broadcasting. Has anyone ever tried doing this? I'm using Influxis for my media streaming and they've assured me I can execute server side scripts.Right now i'm using FLME 3 to do the streaming up to the server.I'd appreciate any help, or a point in the right direction -Matt
I have few queries on Flash Media Server:My Requirements1. First requirement is to broadcast a live event through a website. So I need to develop an application to capture the event using a cam (I don't want to use Media Encoder) and I need to create a player for the web site.2. Second requirement is, in a webpage need to display the same live streaming event, also need to display another 8 live videos (which capture the webcam of 8 different users). Basically can I do multiple streaming how can I handleQuestions:a. Can I use Flash Media Server to meet the above requirements?b. I have a dedicated server for FMS and I have webhost for hosting the website. Since FMS and the web hosting are different server, will FMS communicate with the hosting server?c. What is the minimum config for the hosting server? Is it better to go for some Unmetered Servers?Please help me.
what i can do with this new codec? i tried to search in new adobe doc comes with FMS 2.4 but i didnt find anything talking about this new codec
Basically I want 3 users to connect up to the application to start the game. When the game starts...it displays a "Game has started" message on the clients' screens. I used shared object for this. However when i ctrl-enter the fla file...it says:TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter text must be non-null. at flash.text::TextField/set text() at chemion_cs3_fla::MainTimeline/syncSO()I dont know what it means. How to solve this problem? These are my codes:=====================================================Client side=====================================================var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onstatus1); nc.connect("rtmp://localhost/myapplication2");var txt1:SharedObject;function onstatus1 (event:NetStatusEvent): void{ switch (event.info.code) {
Hi guys,We use a Flash component to allow a user on our web site to record from a Webcam on to our own Flash Media Server. The problem we are having is that the video in a 30 second FLV freezes at the 7th second but the audio continues. The video unfreezes after a couple of seconds but never catches up with the audio. At the very end there's a "Fast-forwarding" of video for the last few seconds so that at literally the last moment, everything's in sync. This happens for almost all of our recordings. Has anyone experienced this type of behavior? Any clues?Thanks.
I'm using the send method to send a message from server to client wich is all fine and dandy but the problem is if i try to call another function from the called function it doesn't execute here is some code to demonstrate it......is the function out of scope of the rest of the application or something since it was executed by the FMS server? I'm sure the function i'm calling works becuase it works from outside the send called fuctionspublic function StopTimer():void{ timekeeper1.stopTicking();trace("stopped ticking"); }
I have converted the F4V to a single moof atom file and it now plays in Media Player and I can create a SWF player to play the video file but my question is, how do I convert the F4V single moof atom file into a FLV? Media Encoder will not except it Thank you,Jose BurgosBurgos, Inc.www.burgosfx.com
Hi all,I only just started learning FMS 2 weeks ago, and I have a question.Im trying to do a multiplayer card game. Basically each player gets 7 cards. There's an open deck of 20 cards for all players to see and a closed deck (the remaining cards).I have to randomize (shuffle) the entire deck before I distribute it to the players. Where should I place this set randomizing functions? Server side or client side?
I have FMS 3.5.2 installed on a VMWare CentOS image running under OS X. I have the CentOS IP mapped to the host "fms.vm" on both the host (OS X) and CentOS machine and can access the FMS Admin just fine, either via a browser on OS X or a browser on CentOS. No problem there.I have a basic "helloworld" server-side app and can use the fmscheck to verify connectivity:tools/fmscheck --auser xxx --apswd xxxx --app helloworld --host localhost #Fields: date time x-event x-sname2009-11-23 11:28:01 Connect rtmp://localhost:1935/helloworld2009-11-23
We are streaming live events encoding using H.264, so therefore we have to save the file as a .f4v. However, whenever I try to play the file, I keep getting a "playback failed" in Adobe Media Player. What could I be missing? Is there anything else I need to do in Flash Media Live Encoder?
Does FMS 3.5.2 in development impose restrictions via the origin of connections? That is, does it only allow localhost connections via ActionScript (NetConnection) or are external connections allowed? In other words, can I have FMS in dev mode on a dedicated server and then have my client code running on a different machine that opens connections to this development server?The docs say that the only difference in dev mode vs full licensed is that the number of connections is limited to to 10, but it doesnt say anything about their origin.Can anyone definitely comment on this?Thanks/Cody
Hello from Poland, We are working on some kind of karaoke application based on FMS IS 3.5. Trying to do it very right way we try to mix recorded voice ( or voice + video ) with prerecorded song ( flv file stored on server ) using sox and ffmpeg to join files and convert formats. Normally, the workflow with any session looks like this: 1. background song is played ( and paused at start ) by rtmp -> we wait untill it is cached totally, then 2. we record stream from mic ( or mic + camera ) 3. recording is mixed with background on server-side, so we have nice one file to publish to other users. And there is a problem. Recording seems always to be delayed to prerecorded background. After some research, trimming ( with sox ) about 300-350ms form recording beginning solves the problem, but not for all cases. Sometimes, this value seems to be too small or too big - and lack of synchronization can be clearly heard. What can be the cause of this delay? Is it network issue, FMS issue orhard
I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.1. I've created a new directory under "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications" called "livedev" as my publishing point.2. Question: Do I need to copy main.asc, Application.xml, allowedHTMLdomains.txt, allowedSWFdomains.txt to this directory as well?3. Question: Using FMLE 3 - FMS URL parameter which protocol do I need to use, does it matter 'http' or 'rtmp'? - http://localhost/livedev or rtmp://localhost/livedev Does RMTP use port 80.4. Question: In my Flash Player code. I dragged an instance of FLVPlayback component, what URL do I need for the 'Source' parameter? Which protocol do I need to use, does it matter 'http' or 'rtmp'? - "http://localhost/livedev/liv
