This is a bump and additional thought. The leap to my 1500k file happens when initial bandwidth detection happens as bandwidth is high. Then the computer can not handle playback of a 1500k file.Is there a way to force the player to actually start playing the 300k stream before making any step up to a higher stream?I am using the classes, DynamicStream.as, DynamicStreamSample.as and DynamicStreamItem.as from http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/dynstream_advanced_pt1.htmlhttp://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/dynstream_advanced_pt2.htmlhttp://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/dynstream_advanced_pt3.htmlHi, I have a page up at http://www.gasolicious.com/orangeupload/shell3_construction.htmlBitrate of currently playing stream is displayed in big numbers on the page.To see the problem you will need an older laptop or computer which would have trouble playing back a a high bitrate video stream.the stream is dynamically switching through the Dynamic
Hello, i have configured my adobe media server. Actually, i use rtmp protocol to open vod, i can open all videos encoded in FLV1/VP6 across the network, but i can't do it with h.264 videos. If i try to open the h.264 file in the localhost/vodtest it's working... Someone knows what is the problem? Is it something to configure? I am really lost...Best regards

Hi!I've just installed FMS free developer edition with the Apache http server on Windows Server 2008.The documentation tell me to put my videos into the applications>vod folder OR webroot>vod folder. They both support the RTMP protocol. Here the question (Probably a simple question to answer):When I target a video (rtmp://myserver/vod/myvideo) where is FMS finding the file to stream? If I have similar videofiles in both folders does FMS use webroot>vod OR applications>vod????Thanks
Hi,I'm trying to set-up an online TV station with FMS 3.5. A number of 'producers' will deliver their shows in pre-encoded format and I want to stream those to the visitors. This will be done with a schedule, so no VOD. When a visitor logs on they see the show that is 'on' at that time. Setting up VOD is no problem but I'm having some difficulty understanding the set-up that is needed to realize this. Any help, links or tips would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Is FMS 3.5 supported on a Windows 2003 (or better yet Windows 2008) server fail-over cluster?Thinking it would be nice to have an origin server clustered so no single point of failure can occur. Any thoughts?
Anybody know how to alternate text colors in a Chat i tried to use css but it changes all the text colors not just each message. Anybody know or point me in the right direction?

How can I turn on error reporting that tells me exactly on what line of my .asc file an error or warning has occurred?I need this in order to debug why my fmscore is constantly segfaulting, presumably caused by my .asc file.I know the .asc is causing the crash because when I removed a section of it, the crash suddenly stopped - but I can't figure out why it would crash at all, and it does so at unpredictable intervals, sometimes every few hours, sometimes every single time, ...Any help appreciated, thanks!

In my Application, there are a number of things going on, chat, slides etc... Is it possible to record when a "Event" happens for playback later? For example every time a slide changes, it's recorded to some kind of file as a record to be "replayed" later?
I am developing an application where I need musicians to play together and I want to have an audience listen to it. I have created my publisher clients and they can create the streams, but now I want to take those multiple streams and combine them so that you can hear the guitar, singer, etc. all together. Is this possible, do I need to tell the server side script to combine them and create a new stream? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi,I'm using FMS Streaming 3.5.0 r405 on linux servers to stream videos with RTMP/RTMPT. We have decided to use the new proxying function to redirect HTTP requests to a Web server. We did not install the included Apache server, but used a lighttpd server installed on the same machines and configured to listen on port 81. So when a client connects with our player, it tries first RTMP, RTMPT and if it times out on these attemps, we try to go through with HTTP. FMS proxies the HTTP request received on port 80 to the lighttpd server on port 81.My fms.ini file contains:# Whether to start and stop the included HTTP server along# with FMS.#SERVER.HTTPD_ENABLED = false# IP (address and) port that Flash Media Server should proxy# unknown HTTP requests to. Leave empty to disable proxying.# With no address, specifies a localhost port.# For example:# HTTPPROXY.HOST = webfarm.example.com:80#HTTPPROXY.HOST = :81This works well, but after a few hours, the HTTP proxy of FMS does not
I have decided to stick with a product that has real support instead of "open source." I have a simple question:What are the hardware requirements to provide 100-250 concurrent connections at, say, 300kbs? I have customers that want that many. Would I basically need a dedicated server per customer, or can a robust server handle 1000+ concurrent connections? Is a CDN a better solution? I've noted a minimum of XEON 3.2 and 4GB of RAM but recognize that is a minimum. I generally prefer dual Opteron's with RAID 0 for speed and fast drives. How about quad-core Intel's? Is there really a difference anymore between XEON with a 1MB L2 cache and a dual core with 1MB of L2?Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone!!!i need to know, how can have security and authentication in FMS3? when flash media live encoder 3 try to conect to FMS, FMS request login and password and then trasmit the show.thanks,walter.
Hi,I created a website a year ago using Macromedia Flash 8 and uploaded some flv files. (They were quick time movies and I converted it to flv) On my old computer I could view the files online perfectly. However since then we have gotten two new computers that came with Adobe Flash Player 10 and now every time I go to my websites I can't view my flv anymore. I click on the link and it won't pop up. Does this have anything to do with the fact I made the site with Flash 8? Because when I converted the files it said it was compatible with Flash Player 8 or later so I don't know why I can't view it now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks,Krys
Hi, I'm a new in the forum and with Flash Media Server, so...be kind 🙂In using Flash Live Media Encoder to aquire a webcam video and to send it to a Flash Media Development Server 3.5 for live video streaming to one client by the same local network. The client device doesn't support flash player but is able to read and play flv video format. So, if i get a flv video file from apache 2 it works. But I don't know how to get a live video streaming from the server. The client application needs a flv file to point to.Does FVS generate a flv file for live video streaming?Where can I find it?Can I point it to get the video? Some suggestion?I need real time video with low latency.Thank a lot.P.
I There, how can search for snmp and mib files of this product(Flash Media Server)?I Don't fin anything...Best Regards,Sérgio Machado

Hi,I am using FMIS 3.5.2 (latest release as of today) on Fedora 10 64bit.I am using SharedObjects on a server that has around 300 simultaneous users. The fmscore crashes every 1 -> 7 hours, seemingly arbitrarily. The core dump shows something about JS_SetProperty, but there is really little information. At other times, and this happens once every few days, my rsyslogd spikes because it writes the following lines thousands of times per second: "Failed to wait for process condition: errno(43)." There are no clear error message in /opt/adobe/logs except that "1 failure has occurred"So my question is, is FMIS a stable product? And if not, does that make it a beta product? And if so, when can we expect a stable version of this very expensive piece of software?
i did download the latest version of flash media server , but it seam the /live/main.asc did not work at all ,i did create a main.asc in :C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3\applications\live\to be :C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3\applications\live\main.asc----------------------------------------------------------------------------now i did add to main.acs this code :application.onConnect = function(client, name) { trace("TRACE -- TRACE -- TRACE -- TRACE -- TRACE -- TRACE"); }----------------------------------------------------------------------------as the help files said :((The output of the trace() statements used by a main.asc file are sent to a log file, typically: RootInstall/logs/_defaultVHost_/yourApplicationName/yourInstanceName/application .xx.log Where yourInstanceName is _definst_ by default, and xx is the instance number, 00 for the most recent log file, 01 for the previous instance, and so forth.
