I'm developing a file-io plug-in and the FmsDestroyFileAdaptor or FmsDestroyFileAdaptor2 functions are not being called for my dll when the FMSCore process exits. I built the and tested the sample plug-in that comes with FMIS 3.5 and the same problem exists with it as well.Any clues? Is this a bug? Thanks,George
I'm baffled and any help would be great. I had an flv recording from a webcam. It mostly recorded fine, but there's one point where I paused the broadcast for an intermission. A few minutes later the broadcast started again but the video doesn't play beyond that point, only audio plays. A few minutes later in the recording the broadcast switched to another camera and the video starts playing again just fine from there.I can't seek past the frozen point either to skip a couple of seconds ahead. The freeze is at about 9:00. If I seek to 9:01 it jumps ahead 8 minutes to where the camera switches. What's strange in this is that the video is *definitely* in the file. Using Moyea's FLV Editor Pro I converted the FLV to an MPEG and the whole video is there, so it's not that the camera stopped transmitting, it's just that the playback isn't working.Any ideas on what might cause this and (more importantly) how I might go about fixing the file?
Sorry, but can't seem to locate how to do the following on FMS 3.5.I have multiple applications, and need to set different connection limits for each of them - e.g., 10, 35, etc.I'm only concerned with limiting RTMP connections, and not using Apache or http streaming.Could somebody please shed some light?
Hi all, Let's say I have two different Flash apps (remote from each other) and joined by the same NetConnection. Now, they both set the NetConnection "client" property (e.g. nc.client = <whatever>". On one of the apps (the one I incidentally start first), it receives all remote "client" calls from the script sitting on my Flash Media Server. However, the second app (which sets the .client property in the same way) never receives ANY of those client calls. Is it possible to have more than one custom "client" set for a NetConnection? Or am I missing something here? Thanks in advance!Cheers,Duncan

Hey Adobe Forums,I'm working on a project for a university and I need help. I need the main.asc file to return the current directory listing to a flash application.Main.asc file:application.onConnect = function( p_client) { .... p_client.call("dirRcv", null, getDirectory("/")); } function getDirectory (theDirectory) { var currentDir = new File(theDirectory); var a = currentDir.list(function(name){return name;}); return a; } Tracing a in main.asc returns the correct listing. Client class: public function dirRcv(d:Object):void { trace(d); for (var a in d) { trace(a); } } This returns:[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]012for (var part in d) {
Hi all, Another question re setting up FMS to do multiple vid conferences: Say I have 3 or 4 video feeds being generated from different locations, and those 3 or 4 video feeds are going to be consumed by others. Can I do that through the same NetConnection/FMS application? Or do I need to create multiple FMS applications (i.e. one for each feed)? I currently have one feed on a NetConnection, but I'm looking to expand it. Thanks!
What I'm looking to do is have a flash player that constantly plays a loop of videos, but it automatically switches to our live stream whenever we start the encoder. Is this possible, and if it is...how can I do this? Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm trying to get the ID3 info from a mp3, but at the moment, with no success.I use ns.play("mp3:"+myFileName) to play the mp3, and everything goes ok, but i have no id3 info. The methods onMetaData or onID3 dont receive nothing. If i try to use ns.play("id3:"+myFileName), i receive an "stream not found" message in the netStatus method.Any ideas ?Thanks in advance.Fede.
When a DVR stream finishes publishing, can you use the cached file as a VOD?Where is the DVR file stored?
I built an advertising website for one of my clients. He would like the website members (advertisers) to be able to upload videos and have them automatically appear on the website. (Sort of like how YouTube works, but he doesn't want to use YouTube). Does anyone know how to do this?
We logged into a brand new machine running Flash Streaming Media Server 3.5 for the first time today. Someone immediately implied that running Flash Streaming Server poses a security risk to our network. I am ready to strongly refute this, but will, no doubt, have to defend the new server at an upcoming meeting. Any supportive thoughts/facts/comments/statements/experiences I could add would be appreciated.

Hello!I am a FMS newbie, and am trying to take the MP3DJ application developed by Graeme Bull, from his article http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/live_dj_app.htmlI recently purchased an Influxis FMS hosting account, and tried to take the example files given, modify them to fit my FMS server's specifications, and run the application. However, every time I run the SWF file that is meant to interface with the Influxis FMS server - from within Flash - I get the error message:NetConnection.Connect.RejectedNetConnection.Connect.ClosedOn my Influxis server, the file structure is thus:main.asc file: ~/mp3dj/main.ascinstance: ~/mp3dj/source/mp3djapp/The syntax I am using to connect to the server is as follows:nc.connect("rtmp://ablrtd3t.rtmphost.com/mp3dj/mp3djapp");Pinging ablrtd3t.rtmphost.com gives back a good, clean response. An online port checker application said all three FMS ports are ready and usable on my computer. I'm not sure what could be causing this issue.Any
Hey there,I am searching for the syntax to call an OnSync event on the server-side. Yes, I am a Flash server virgin. I need some help. I'm an IT consultant (OS, Exchange and break/fix mostly). I haven't written code since RBase 3.1. I have a 3.5.2 Flash Development Server up and running and can see the default video over the Internet using HTTP and RTMP. I've been reading PDFs, posts and web sites and have come to understand how much I don't know. Can anyone direct me to a link or post that will tell an idiot how load their own flash video and make it work? What pride I had has been crushed. Thanx,Mel
Is there any easy way to do this?Or a very detailed tutorial?
A client connected to the FMS for playing live video. The problem has been found that when FMS shutdown the network, the client's NetConnection didn't dispatch any event. But when the client shutdown the network the client's NetConnection will dispatch NetConnection.Connect.Closed event. How could flash client know the FMS' server side networking problem? Does it necessary to use heartbeat mechanism between FMS and client?
I encoded an AVI w/ Media Encoder and dropped the FLV into a Flash playback component. In my compiled SWF, the video plays in hyperspeed (like it has a really fast framerate), but the audio plays normally. It seems like an encoding issue, but could it be something in Flash?I'm guessing there's some setting mismatch -- different bitrate, framerate, dimensions?I've recorded a couple screen capture vids (.AVI files) w/ CamStudio.CamStudio's video options:Compressor: Microsoft Video 1Quality: 70Set Key Frames Every: 200 framesFrameratesCapture frames every: 5 msPlayback rate: 200 frames/secAVI file's properties under Windows:Size: 168 mbWidth: 1098 pxHeight: 823 pxBit Rate: 56kbpsFrame rate: 200 frames/secData rate: 2290kbpsVideo sample size: 16 bitVideo compression: MS-CRAMI encoded this file to FLV with Adobe Media Encoder several times.I tried a couple different presets, but I don't understand what the cause might be.help
I'm setting up my fmis to deliver video through rtmp and http.I'm on a locked down network. What ports need to be open to allow people outside of the network to access the rtmp/http streams?I am correct to say only port 80 and 1935?
This is my first time using Flash Media Encoder.I converted a 168 MB .AVI video to .F4V and the resultant file is 302 MB.Is this normal? What could I have done wrong?
Hi,My IIS server can't start properly after a reboot (Windows update f. ex.). I have an error message that says it's not possible to start this service because it is used by an another process (Flash Media Server). It works again if I stop Flash Media Server and Flash Media Server administration and I start one by one my websites and start FMS after.I couldn't see on this forum any similar problems, but I don't think I'm the only one that use FMS under Server 2008!-What's wrong on my configuration/server?-Do I need to disable Auto-start and do it automatically with the task scheduler? Thanks for any help!RegardsP.
Have the server installed fine... downloaded the encoder fine, got it set up. When I use rtmp://localhost/live/instance1 in the FMS URL.... I hit connect it will connect. I change that to my computers IP rtmp://000.000.0.000/live/instance1 (example) it connects with the server... Now, when I swamp that out once again with my static IP rtmp://00.00.000.00/live/instance1 NOTHING. lol... this is killing me. Had this up and running until I swamped out my eathernet card. that changed my conputers IP address and I have not been able to get it to work since. Router is set up right I think. Got the ports forwarded and used the defualt suggested ports and changed the ip on it when computers ip changed. Any ideas? Whispersoul
