Hi, we need to stream a live video over more than one FMS. We connected a camera to first FMS and publish a live stream. That works fine. Now, the second FMS (FMS2) is in a different location and hosts the videos for our second office . To reduce the bandwidth over the internet we would like to stream the live stream from FMS1 to FMS2, so that FMS2 can deliver the content in the second intranet (one to one to many). I hope you understand this. Maybe one of you can help me, maybe with a sample. Thanks in advance! Friedemann Enderlein
Hi, I'm trying to find information on setting up a server-side playlist, for example, at midnight all users connecting to the stream will be accessing mymidnightmovie.flv, at 1:30 they'd all access another flv, and so on, but streamed from the server, not with a client side playlist. Any help or pointers towards documentation or examples would be helpful. Thank you.
Hi friends, Netstream consuming 100% of the CPU of Mac OSX, and 55% of Linux Code: private function testInit():void { var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect(null); var nsMict:NetStream = new NetStream(nc); nsMict.attachAudio(Microphone.getMicrophone()); } Someone sure how to solve it? I am using flash player 9.0.124 Thank's!
I created a simple Flash file with an embedded FLVPlayback component to display a live video feed. Occasionally, on the client browser, the feed will connect, buffer and then display a black window. When this happens, I noticed that if I select "show redraw regions," the redraw area is a 0 pixel by 0 pixel region in the top left corner of the window. If I refresh the page to reconnect, everything is usually fine. Any idea why this happens? It's annoying and confusing for the user as they assume the stream is broken.
Hi Guys, I'm busy looking for stats on how many connections / users FMS Interactive server can take. We are planning a multiplayer chat / gaming environment based on flash technology. All stats that i've found so far talk about streaming video limits, not gaming terms. Is there a rough ballpark on how many concurrent users I can expect from a server? 500 / 1000 / 3000 ??? (servers are dedicated by the way, all database / files etc will be elsewhere). We are also looking at going down the origin + 2 edge servers as an initial setup. What result would this have on number of connections? i.e would each server add less connections in edge mode than it would if it were a standalone server? I realise that a lot of this is down to how our app is built but some theoretical knowledge would be very handy... we are aiming for a 10k concurrent user setup. Many thanks for any information p.s. we have specs for a quad core, 2Gb RAM, running RedHat ES4 - i know this will make a big difference t
hai, i am using FME to stream my live video. But i want to create a server side script . can anybody help me getting the server side script for that. i think the main.far in the licve directory will do the job. but i need main.asc file. Please help me
I am using AS3 and FMS2. Steps to recreate problem: Step 1: I call SoundMixer.computerSpectrum frequently(on ENTER_FRAME) to update an EQ graph. Step 2: I open and begin playing an RTMP stream. As soon as I receive a 'NetStream.Play.Start' event on a NET_STATUS event on the stream, I begin receiving errors every time the SoundMixer.computeSpectrum line occurs. Here is the error: SecurityError: Error #2123: Security sandbox violation: SoundMixer.computeSpectrum: file:///S|/audioplayer/dashboard.swf cannot access rtmp://localhost/audioplayer. No policy files granted access. I have read in livedocs for flash media interactive server(FMS3) that there exists a property of the server side Client Object called 'audioSampleAccess' that can enable the flash player to access raw, uncompressed audio data from streams. This property doesn't exist in FMS2(i've tried to add the line in livedocs to my application.onConnect!). My question is: Is it possible to access audio data using AS3 Soun
Hey Everyone, I'm running the development edition of FMS on my Vista machine. It was working fine for some time, but now when I connect, Flash always traces a NetConnection.Connect.InvalidApp error. I have tried everything I can think of, is there anything I'm missing? Is this a Vista problem? Is there something I need to adapt? I've already tried deleting the application I was working on, to isolate the problem, and I'm now installing this on my XP machine. EDIT: It doesn't work on my XP machine either. I tried running it through rtmpt and I got NetConnection.Connect.Failed rather than InvalidApp, which isn't much better. I'll try installing this on my Fedora server next, but I'm running out of computers fast. Please, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Really stoked then really frustrated :-/ - TK
Hi everyone, I want to stream the flv files from a different location stored in the hard disk, which is outside the applications folder in the FMS installation root directory. Does anyone know how to do it? Regards, Diptanu
I am using CS3 with FMSS over the internet. I'm using the skinunderallnocaption.swf file provided with CS3 and wish to publish it, except I need to pull the actual FLV name from the url and not hard-code it into the SWF. Example: my url would look like this: http://mydomain.com?file=someflvname I then wish to pass the "someflvname" variable into the skinunderallnocaption.swf file as a variable so it streams from my FMSS. I think I see where I need to use actionscript for this but I have no idea what I'm doing. Thanks
Hello, some days before we started evaluation of the flash media development server for windows. All live video stream samples taken from adobe media encoder (320x200, VP6, std bitrates) seem to have big delays up to 2 or 3 seconds on the client flash player. I think this is a "little bit" too much when server and client are running on the same local host. As soon the connection to the source stream is established the stream starts on the client without any delay BUT it starts with frames from >=2 seconds before. So there seems to be a problem on the server that caches too much data from the media encoder source before sending it to the client. I modified the MinBufferTime in the related live Application.xml file to 200ms instead of 2000ms but nothing changed. Maybe for some unknown reason those settings are ignored because I also tested 8000ms and I also tried to modify the gloabal Application.xml of the virtual host but there is no difference. I always get those big delays and i
We ran into a bug that some users with flash player 9,0,124,0 would not play any H.264 encoded mp4 videos against any FMS 3.0.0. After reading the release notes, we tried to upgrade to FMS 3.0.2. However, the new FMS server would not accept our old license key. What have we done wrong?
Hello, after installing FMS on RHEL5, when accessing http://MY_IP:1111 i get following: <result> <level>error</level> <code>NetConnection.Connect.Rejected</code> <description>Admin user requires valid username and password.</description> <timestamp>Tue 20 May 2008 11:40:44 AM CEST</timestamp> </result> anybody have an idea whats wrong? Thanks!
I really want to use a mac to broadcast internet radio. I notice that the streaming media encoder only seems available for PC. Am I missing something? I have Flash CS3 and other Adobe CS3 software. Is there anything I can do to stream Flash Media from a Mac. I suppose I could use a Windows computer just to handle the stream, but how do I get the stream from the mac to the Windows computer if I do that. I'm planning on using a Streaming service for the actual streaming but I'm just trying to get it from my computer in the best possible way.
I am looking for a away to centralize (and display) multiple Network based video camera streams through the Flash Media Server/Encoded server software. Are there any use-cases or how-to documents that show how to manage video content when it's available this way? I've done some initial searching without much avail -- feedback or other related resources appreciated. Thanks
i was wondering if FMS can support 1, 000 users at same time. i want to create a community like hotel habbo or konec-t coca cola http://coca-cola.interalia.net/vworldv2/ http://www.habbo.com/ do you think that FMS can support this ?? thanks
Ever since I upgrade our flash media interactive server to 3.0.1, I always get an error in windows 2003 Event log - "Warning: Duplicate license key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(our license key)". The only thing I can remember is I had to enter the same FMS 3.0 license key during FMS 3.0.1 installation. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.
I am new to FMS and FME. I have streamed media for several years using Windows Media Encoder (WME) to a third party server and then to clients on the net. I am trying to do the same thing with FME and FMS while bypassing the third party server. I am having no luck and getting errors when I just try to stream to FMS from FME even after trying other forum threads. Here's my info: Wnidows 2003 server Server IP address 192.168.0.1 Router Address 192.168.0.2: port 3601 open Dynamic IP address on ISP (I can get my current ip address from "whatismyip.com. I also use "No-IP.com to provide a static address). I am using a Viewcast 230 Video capture card which seems to be working perfectly with FME. So that's not a problem. I do not have Dreamweaver or Flash CS3 on this machine. However I do have them on another computer. I need the "type this for Dummies" approach. And, then, what do I tell clients to enter in their browser in order to view my stream?
I have a user who is concerned about getting a virus if they watch a video file online. It is my understanding that if we stream flv files from our Flash Streaming Server, the file itself is never downloaded to the user's computer, and therefore they could not get a virus watching flv's streamed from our server. Is this right? thanks for any help you can provide, kathleen
Our studio is moving to a Flash video streaming solution from a RealVideo streaming one. We stream multiple live streams daily and archive our streams as well and there are times when we'd like to edit the .flv video files to cut out a section or maybe merge two flv files. For RealVideo files, this can be done using the Real Media editor that is built into Real Producer. Is there any solution to accomplish this with FLV files? I've scoured google and I've found workarounds that involved converting the .flv file into an avi or an mpeg, editing it and then converting it back using multiple programs and plugins to accomplish this, but that process is too complicated for most of the end-users in our studio and converting the format over and over obviously causes degradation in the quality of the video. Has Adobe created a standalone tool to split/merge flv files? If anybody has a solution please share. Thanks!
How do I find out how much of a streaming video has been buffered? The variable stream.bytesLoaded is zero (stream is of type NetStream). Why? The platform: AS3 + MediaServer 3 File format being streamed: MP4
I have a rather large inventory of user-supplied videos. Our visitors upload their videos to our server and an ASP script sends them to a com service and encodes them as FLVs. At the same time a database entry is made from the submission and a filename is generated and entered. A separate app serves up the videos based on search criteria - dynamically from the database via a Cold Fusion server (it pulls the filename out and inserts it dynamically into the URL, when the user clicks on the file, the SWF loads the file). Here's a link to the app that's live right now; Everything works great except it's progressively played and we wish to switch to streaming format. I'd like to keep the coding to a minimum and maintain my Coldfusion application which works extremely well. Is there a way I can subsitute the addressing from the http:// address to the rtmp:// address? In other words, all I wish to do is to modify the url to use rtmp:// and stream rather than download progressively. I am
can any one know, what value 600 and 200 means in x-status field of access.00.log file in FMS2.0?????
