Hi, I have developer edition and downloaed a sample from one of the tutorials available on Adobe.com. Everything works fine with the rtmp link pointing to localhost when the site is launched on the server itself. However, if I go to another machine and access access the html through http nothing happens. The player isn't embedded, no movie... nothing. So I'm thinking the reference to locahost is bad... how can my remote machine talk to 127.0.0.1? So, I changed bind ip in adaptor.xml and public ip in server.xml... still nothing.... What am I missing..... ? Thanks!
ok i set up the FMS, and i have it running on win2003 at winxp i have the encoder and is connected to the server, since i see an instance of it now how do i set up the webclient??? wheres the config for the client? does it need to be in a webserver or does it run from where the flash server is installed??
I'm trying to understand how to use NetStream.send(). I'm not sure whether it is is used to send function calls from one client to another or if it is used to send a function call from the server to all clients. Can anyone tell me how it is supposed to be used and point me to sample code to illustrate its use?
I am new to Adobe products, so not exactly sure if the Adobe Media Server suits our needs. We are working towards an app that provides streaming mp3 music to end users via a flash player. What we want to do is prevent users from getting to know the url of the mp3 on our server. Is it possible to do that with the Media Server? (couple of hours of research proves .htaccess and likes are no good solution)
Hello friends, I have developed a audio/video chatroom application using Flash 8 and Red5 server. Application works fine for text chat only but take lots of time, when some one is publishing audio and video to others, they receive the published audio/video after a bad delay. i m using following client side code:- for publishing video stream:- var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect("rtmp://domain/folder_name") var out_netstream:NetStream = new NetStream(nc); mycam = Camera.get(); mycam.setQuality(0, 80); mycam.setMode(320, 240,15); out_netstream.attachVideo(mycam); out_netstream.publish("videotest", "record"); for playing video stream:- var in_netstream = new NetStream(nc); in_netstream.play("videotest"); rcv_video.attachVideo(in_netstream); //here rcv_video is video object please help me on this issue its very urgent thnaks in advance
Hi, I'm trying find out some capacity test for videochat. It will be enough know numbers of clients on conrete PC configuration. Can anyone tell me some numbers of streams and users? Or when I will have overall 1000 users, when each user is "downloading" 4 stream and from that 500 users are "uploading" camera. What configuration can handle it? It's only example. It will be enough know any numbers of users/configuration. Thanks a lot! Leoš
Hello, Does FMS or Flash have any fps limit for recording or streaming video? I know the hardware (camera, server, etc) will impact the max fps we can get, but what about FMS if using high speed equipment. Thank you, Carlos
Is there a way to feed the FMS with live video created by custom software that does not 'speak' RTMP? How can that be accomplished?
Hello, Question regarding FMS 3 live setup. How can I restrict the encoder connecting to the FMS 3 live channel based on IP address? Meaning, if the encoder has a public IP, can I use that IP to control which encoder can connect to a live setup on my FMS server? Is that doable? If so, where can I configure that? Thanks. Shan.
I have a quick question. What is the standard practice when setting up video on demand. Right now I am just putting the files in VOD/Media folder and streaming them from there. Is there any performance advantage to creating seperate folders under the VOD folder and streaming individual flv files from a folder besides the media folder. Just worried that streaming all the videos from the media folder might effect perfomance.
Anyone have a list of other sites providing example apps and/or free applications for download? I also was interested in getting some of the apps from Influxis to test with. Has anyone been able to get any of those? LEt me know.
I need to use RTMPT to get users to be able to go through my firewall to get to my flash media server 3. However, only rtmp will work. I have had no luck with RTMPT. I thought this protocol was the solution to firewall issues with flash? Am I missing some configuration piece or something?
I installed FMS 3.0 on a HP Proliant Server with AMD 64-bit processor running Windows Server 2003 R2. The FMS service runs, I can see connects to the "vod" application provided, but I cannot get it to stream any video. The data transfer count remains low. I have no idea why its not working and am now thinking that FMS 3.0 is either not AMD-friendly or (worse) it is not 64-bit friendly. Anyone know for certain? It is strange that such a leading edge product isn't 64-bit. Its become very difficult to purchase 32-bit native servers (new anyway).
I am on a headless server. My first question - do I have the right processes running: localhost:11110 *:* LISTEN 5793/fmsadmin *:1935 *:* LISTEN 16781/fmsedge localhost:19350 *:* LISTEN 16781/fmsedge *:1111 *:* LISTEN 5793/fmsadmin ?
Over the last couple of days I've set up FMS3 on a Server 2003 machine and an XP machine. XP works perfectly (as far as I can tell). However, on the Server 2003 machine, although I can stream video on localhost using the samples provided, I can't connect from outside. The sample page gives a 'connection error' message. In the administration console, View Applications > Live Log givces the following: quote: Found wildcard (*) entry: disabling authentication for HTML file domains Found wildcard (*) entry: disabling authentication for SWF file domains whereas it is blank on my working XP machine. A Google search gives only a couple of results that appear to be related, but nothing that I understand. Does anyone know what this error message means, and whether it is related to the connection error problem? And how to solve it?
I installed Flash Media Server 3 on a brand new Windows 2003 Server configuration. FMS3 installs fine but when I click the menu to go to the administration, Internet Explorer (@%$!) pops up and says " Your security settings d not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer". I have configured every security option relating to ActiveX to "allow" and I still get this error. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get this to work? I read somewhere to use Firefox, but I'd like to be able to use IE as well. Thanks.
Hello, I'm using HTTP Administration API to poll for a list of live streams and their status (getLiveStreams, getLiveStreamStats). I'm doing it quite often (5-10 seconds), this is part of server backend infrastructure. The problem is that it seems to prevent live streams from terminations. I see lots of live stream with empty <subscribers> list. When I stop polling and pause for a minute or so, they disappear. Any suggestions how to get relevant list of live streams and their stats in a better way? How to fix existing solution, so it doesn't prevent live streams from termination (I guess it consumes extra system resources)? Any config parameter?
Hello, Is it possible to preview stream encoded by Flash Media Encoder 2 and fed to Flash Media Server 3 in MediaPlayback component of older flash players? Thank you.
Hello, I've testedmy Flash Media Encoder / Flash Media Server and it works great. But Flash media encoder need to have a video and audio device attached to the system in order to encode the file to appropriate format. I would like to know if there is a possibility (and if thre is then how) to use a network stream (MMS, HTTP, RTP) as a source rather that a vide device. Maybe there is some other software that can encode a net media stream and feed it to Media Server? My source streams (in current situation) are either Windows Streaming Server or Windows Media Encoder. How can I manage to bridge there two servers in order to deliver Flash Media Content to my website? Thank you.
According to an article here on adobe's site the Flash Media Server has the ability to track file plays. "Tracking, reporting, and logging capabilities: Because progressive download is just a download of a file, you can't easily log specific relevant statistics such as how long the video was viewed; if the user navigated forward, backward, or paused the video; how many times the viewer played the video; if the viewer left the web page before the video completed playing, etc. Streaming enables you to easily capture this important data." How do I access this data and use it to report to clients? Also how have you tracked flvs that are being played via progressive download housed on a web server?
Hello! I'm trying to access the raw audio and video samples from an RTMP stream and I've done my research but can't overcome the last step. I have FMS 3.0 installed locally and authoring in Flash CS3 with the latest patches and updates. In the Application.xml file I added the two lines: <AudioSampleAccess enabled="true">/</AudioSampleAccess> <VideoSampleAccess enabled="true">/</VideoSampleAccess> inside the <Application> element to allow access from the client, and rebooted the server to make sure it took hold. (and the XML is in the standard VOD application folder). Then I fire up CS3 that is trying to use SoundMixer.computerSpectrum to read the audio samples, but I keep getting the following sandbox issue. SecurityError: Error #2123: Security sandbox violation: SoundMixer.computeSpectrum: file:///C|/Users/me/Documents/flashstuff/monitor.swf cannot access rtmp://localhost/vod. No policy files granted access. at flash.media::SoundMixer$/computeSpectru
Hi all, I have a doubt. It's possible to run Adobe Connect Server 6.0 SP2 and Flash Media Server 3 in the same machine? Thnx.
Hello! "Object encoding error; terminating connection : rtmp://_defaultRoot_/_defaultVHost_/onair/_definst_" This message sends the FMS 3.0 to the console, when I try connecting to a remote shared object from a client side flash app, and after the NetConnection.Connect.Success the connection immediately closes. I use this app since several months, and it was usable. But now it's not work... Please help me!
I am trying to set up a flv player which will play only a portion of a flv file from a streaming server. The file is a lengthy file, and I want two things: 1) to have a player which can play and seek through the whole thing (this is working) and 2) to have a player in which I can load a specific segment of the entire file. Then the seek bar would be limited so that the viewer cannot seek outside of the specified range. Does anyone have advice on how to approach this? Thank you!
