In other words, "-" is replace by B, and "." is replaced by F. Is there a way around this problem?

Hello. I need to record video from a webcam locally, then allow a user to SAVE abd then upload to the server. I have heard that this is possible, but most people's first reaction is that Flash only allows saving direct to the server. Any help out there?

Hi Guys, I was just wondering if a FMS is a necessity when building a youtube style website. We have a progressive download flv player but may have an increase of visitors with a new video project of up to around 10000-20000 visits per day and wondering if the use of FMS would be of benefit for this number of visitors for an FLV player? Say I have a game package, most of which are written in Java. I am thinking to leave the core logics in Java, but change the user interface into Flash, and serve it over FMS. Now is it possible to call Java routines from FMS? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

We are migrating our system from FCS to FMS 2.0.4r79, running on Debian Sarge. With pre-recorded videos (flv), which is what we're testing first, we are seeing a consistent 10% drop in total bandwidth when running on FMS, regardless of light or heavy load. However, testing shows no problems with streaming videos, no errors or slow streaming. It does not appear to be limited by any resources and we are within the license limitations. Ideas?

Ok, i have set application.allowDebug = true; in my main.asc file but i can never see inside shared objects with the fms console. its like it isnt accepting the debug session. any ideas? Cheers

Hello Adobe communtiy, we are developing an online application where our users can send the output of their videocard live into the internet. The app is based on flash communication server mx 1.5.3 and a user-interface developed with flash. Some of our our users had asked for a posibilty to record their video streams from our software to watch it later. To realize this feature we use the internal recording functions of flashcom. While the user is streaming his content he can push a record button in the ui. Then flash-com writes the stream into a flv-file on the server. Is the recording stopped by pressing another button or timeout the user will be asked if he wants to save the record. If he agrees the flash-ui starts a script in the background which catches the flv from our flashcom, encodes it into mpeg, saves it at our webserver and adds a dataset into our database. How can I set a time limit to videorecord component?

I am new to flash and don't see this on the tutorials. I downloaded a recorded conference call that was an mp3 file and saved it on my home computer. When I play it it goes to my default media player - RealPlayer, but that is an mpg file, not mp3. I have flash but don't know how to use it much. When i upload it to my server and then click on the link it comes back trying to play as a QuickTime Movie. And it has a question mark in it because it can't read the file The file is also long and I will want to snip out parts of it if possible. I suspect I could convert it to an FMV file and manage this but have no clue where to start. I don't know how to even get it back into mp3. All I need is the audio. Hi there, I'm having problems getting any applications for FMS 2 to work. The server is definitely running - I can see it in Task Manager and I can connect via the management console. I downloaded the sample applications and none of these work and every tutorial I try doesn't work. Nothing seems to connect to the server. In client applications when I check the NetConnection status it says the connection has failed. But I don't see anything in the NetConnection debugger so it's like it hasn't even tried to connect. I'm on Windows XP but I've also tried it on a 2003 machine with no luck. I've tried disabling the firewall and that makes no difference either. There must be something I'm missing but I can't work it out. Thanks for any help you can give me. Andy

Is there any way to record live audio from a mic and streaming it through FMS without having to have a webcam plugged in? Is there way to use another video source other than a webcam, such as an existing flv? thank you.

hi, i installed FMS2 on gentoo linux 32 bits, it worked fine with the flag platformwarn. I can run the server in IE, connecting to the admin, loading an application. But when i try to connect with my application (localy or not) , i always have connection failed. Does someone from adobe (or else) can answer to this question ? Hi: I'm new to video and could use some help. I have a video clip which plays fine localy but when played from the server (in progressive download mode) it starts and stops? I've tried different buffer times without success. I started with 400kbps (i have dsl and I tested it at 700k) I also tried 150kbps thinking slower data rate would not stop as much ---but it does the same thing? I can't figure out whos turning off my stream? The website host says its not them same with the isp. Anyone have any ideas how I can figure out where the interuption is? (maybe its local somehow). I'm using the default FLVPlayback server side application to provide access to existing flash videos on the server. From reading and using the server admin UI, I can see that each client gets a stream allocated with a random name assigned by the server to handle the playback. What I need to do is modify that server side app so that I can set the onStatus property for the playback stream. The static method Stream.get() would work - but only if I know the name of that client's stream. I can't seem to figure out how to do that from within the server side application. I've tried using the admin API from the onConnect() or onConnectAccept() routine. I'm able to create a NetConnection to the admin port on the server and invoke the call but the callback object is never invoked. It appears that the admin API requires that it be executing in the context of a client side app to work. Hi, I've made a video/audio/text chat and every thing works fine when I start the nc & connect right away. but now I try to start the video in stream on an event and it doesn't start. I think I have made a fundimental mistake as I know it is possible.... Can someone tell me the correct structure of the nc, connect and publish...... as when I try to make the nc in the event with the connect it doesnt work.... thx Z
