All, I have an application where a user records a temp cam video. This temp video is stored on FMS. The user can crop the beginning and end times to save as the final video. The user passes the times through the nc.call method to FMS where the server Stream gets the "final" flv (just the stream name), starts to record on the "final" flv, and then plays the temp flv with the start and end times passed as variables. Now, the problem. If variables are passed, no cropping is accomplished. If I hard-code the times, cropping is accomplished. How strange...Anyway, any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks, Shack //Client code //__userID is varibale passed from logon (i.e. 123) //__startTime is variable inputed to TextInput //__endTime is variable inputted to TextInput __nc.call(""submitVideo", null, __userID, _startTime, _endTime) //Server side Client.prototype.submitVideo = function(p_userID, p_startTime, p_endTime) { var userID = p_userID; var start = p_startTime; var end = p_endTime; m
The free-to-download FMS2 "Developer Edition" appears to support up to 10 concurrent connections. FCS 1.5 MX used to have a Personal Edition which supported upto 50 and was "stackable" (up to five). Is there a FMS2 Personal Edition or is the next step up one of the FMS2 Professional Edition options?
Hi everybody, I have a problem with a capture card, a Pinnacle 50dtvi. I'm trying to capture live video via Flash, using the Camera object. With my webcam it works perfectly. Flash is given the permission to access the capture card, which is recognized correctly by Flash, nevertheless it doesn't show any output. Any solution? Maybe there's a problem with the fact the card has several input sources (tv, analog in etc.) and Flash doesn't know how to distinguish among them - this, for instance, is what happens with softwares like vvvv, where you can select the capture device and, inside it, the capture source. Is there any way to make this choice in Flash via ActionScript? Do you know of any (possibly low-cost) capture card working with Flash which have a in and a out? I've seen others have similar problem, for instance: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=578&threadid=1164387&enterthread=y Thanks everybody!
We use FCS for audio conferencing. We actually recorded all audio streams to the server from a single meeting with many participants. Now our problem is audio streams from different participants gets recorded in a separate .flv file. Now if we playback those streams they go out of sync, giving user bad experience in case participants are discussing something rather than a broadcast. Is there any way we can avoid those recorded streams going out of sync? Any help or directions will be appreciated Thanks in advance.
Hi! I want to find out if it's possible to create a client flash app that allows * playback of one or several audio channels (mp3s) * playback one or several video channels (flvs) These media channels should be played back in sync with each other, so that the audio channels can contain sound synchronized to the video channel(s) I want to use streaming media because of the higher security-level (not storing the any temp media on the client computer) Can this be done using the combination of Flash8 and Flash Media Server? Any ideas or point of views are welcome! Regards / Jonas Nyström
We are exploring options to port RMTP client on a particular platform. This platform supports various codecs (including FLV ) and protocols (except RMTP). I am trying to findout whether we can get the source code for RMTP client and integrate it with my platform. Thanks Ashish
Hello. Im new to flash comm server, so maybe its dumb question, but.. did as the manual says, couldnt find troubleshooting answer, so im looking for help. Logged in the management console as ADMIN, i have created a user named client1, under the virtualhost also named client1. When I click on the username at the "Manage Users" tab, it says "Client1: app developer on the vhost of server "server1"". BUT.. when i try to login as client1, always get a wrong password.. and, the password is not wrong. Double, triple checked it. Any tip? Thanks Cadu
Hi i have FMS all set up now using the default instances etc i connect with "rtmpt://localhost:1935/flv_archive"" which using the onStatus callback says I have connected successfully. I then *RECORD* with. filename = "test_" + new Date().getTime(); trace("recording " + filename); record_ns = new NetStream(my_nc); record_ns.onStatus = function(infoObject:Object) { trace("NetStream.onStatus [RECORD] called: ("+getTimer()+" ms)"); for (var prop in infoObject) { trace("\t"+prop+":\t"+infoObject[prop]); } trace("..."); }; active_mic = Microphone.get(); record_ns.attachAudio(active_mic); record_ns.publish(filename, "record"); and *STOP* with record_ns.close(); record_ns.attachAudio(null); and *PLAY* with play_ns = new NetStream(my_nc); play_ns.onStatus = function(infoObject:Object) { ....... same as above }; Live_video.attachVideo(play_ns); // Live_video is an embedded video, works for other non recorded flv's play_ns.play(filename); the problem i
Ciao a tutti, Qualcuno sà come fare in modo che un'utente bannato da una chat in flash/flash media server non possa più entrare registrando il suo numero IP????? Graziiee Rob
I want to have video on my website by allowing the users to upload their own videos to the site. Right now we are allowing upload of .avi and .mpeg files using the embed tag. The problem with this method is that it is incompatible with most browsers namely mozilla. It seems to work ok with IE but not any others. My question is this, can FMS encode different video file formats like .avi, .mpeg, .mov etc into .flv on the fly during upload or do I have to encode them myself and then re upload them to the server?
How can we combine(overlap not concatenate) flv audio streams on server side in one flv file? so all the flv files inside one flv file play at a same time.(i.e Synchronization).
What does this output of the FMS FMS Conectivity Tester mean? Isn't the "default" port 1935? If so, why does it say RTMP over 1935 failed but that the "DEFAULT" was a "success". WIN 9,0,16,0 RTMP DEFAULT Success RTMP 80 Failed RTMP 443 Failed RTMP 1935 Failed HTTP Tunneling DEFAULT Success HTTP Tunneling 80 Success Done running port tests.
Can any body help me to finding a solution to playback more than one recorded streams in synchronization?
Thinking of doing a multiuser white board application. The idea is that there are many rooms where 15 to 30 users can simultaneously paint on a canvas over the course of three hours. The problem I'm having is this: If each painting session lasts for three hours, and if someone were to join two and a half hours into the session, I'm going to need to send them all the canvas information up to that point. However, I'm thinking I can't do this as just objects or arrays of data. By my calculation, this could be megs and megs of data towards the end of the three hours. Is there any way for the Flash Media Server to somehow create bitmap snapshots of the canvas at certain intervals and send that to users who join late in the process? Or am I thinking about this in the wrong way?
I recently installed FMS 2.0 on Fedora Core 5. The server and admin server are both up and running, and I can log in with the management console on the computer itself using localhost as the address. I can't seem to log in with the console to the same server over the network (using address 192.168.0.102, which happens to be the server). There's no error, it just fails to do anything. Does anyone know what could cause this problem? Thanks in advance!
When I add a new instance of Tutorial Server on the management console, it pops up a box to type a name into with the instructions "Press enter to submit the new instance name for application. Press ESC + SHIFT to cancel". Neither enter nor ESC-SHIFT seem to do anything; the View Applications screen is permanently hung up on trying to name the instance. Any ideas? (The console and server are both running on Fedora Core 5).
Is anyone out ther using the Flach AV Components for live video conferencing over dial-up successfully? I know dia-up is not ideal, but I am using small pictures to compensate. I am experiencing what seems like random delay for some live video windows that may grow to ove 20 seconds with both ends of the conversation set to 33kb. I also sometimes get large gaps in syncronization between the video and audio received. Any suggestion/ideas?
My company has live streams for CNN and NASA TV using VBrick. The direct URL's can be accessed through our internal network via a link similar to http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/vbs2d1.sdp . Is there any way I can have this stream through a Flash interface I create using a Flash Media Server? I've streamed live video via my webcam via Flash, but not sure if this kind of connection to a live TV broadcast would be possible. Thanks! Alysen
Ok, I'm a long-time user of Flash and Actionscripting, but totally new to SSAS. I'm creating (or trying to) a multi-user, persistant world, Flash-Based game. So far, all the examples I've seen of SSAS start the script when someone connects/requests it and closes directly after all users are disconnected. Is there a way to create a server app that would run and continue running regardless of current connections, or lack thereof?
Hi folks, this is a pre-sales question really but everything seemed to point me to here... The feature spec for FMS mentions that it can perform "Ad Insertion". So, how? I've searched around but can find precious little reference to it. I've played about with using an XML playlist to load a series of streams from the FMS and that works great, but Ad Insertion kind of implies that the ad becomes indistinguishably part of the content - concatenating them together as far as the end use is concerned? Am I missing something - other than headache tablets after messing with this stuff :) cheers, Alex Tearse ReefNet
hey everyone my company used to use FCS for one of their eLearning portals. i thought they had completely removed it but apparently some obscure customers still use it but i haven't worked on it for years so have forgotten quite how it worked. i've downloaded the dev version of FMS2, installed fine, managed to get the helloVideo app from oreilly's programming flash communication server running ok locally with server side traces in the admin panel showing etc. great! now i need to stop using localhost FMS and run our old app on the actual servers to investigate a bug. hows this done? how i can make changes to the server's main.asc? do i need to edit it locally then upload? or what? the oreilly example seems to use: nc.connect("rtmp:/helloVideo", userNameInput.text); to connect. is that right? and do i have just to change the uri to point to rtmp:/myCompanysServer.whatever? and can i run the swf inside the flash ide so that i can get client side traces too? and when i run the oreil
Hi everyone, I posted a message before, but the login didn't work. I have to fill in the server adress (but I don't know what to fill in). Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance! Wieke
Hi All, I am wondering that Media Server can detect flash player version automatically and it gives message that to download newer version. or is there any code that we can use on our media pieces to communicate with fms. Thanks in advance.
If you want FMS2 to accept tunnelled RTMP connections (on port 80) do you have to install it on a different host from the web server (that's listening for regular HTTP connections on port 80)?
The manual Getting Started with Flash Media Server is mentioned on page 6 of the Installation Guide but the PDF for this book isn't in the documentation directory. Is it available for download somewhere?
