I am trying to log into the Adobe Media Server Admin console. I am not trying to open it up from the AMS itself, and instead I am opening it from by desktop outside of the sever. I can see the AMS homepage, and I can click to launch the admin console. I am using the user named amsadmin and the password I gave it when i first created the AMS instance and logged in using a terminal session. It asked me to add a password for amsadmin and i gave it one. Now, when I try to log into the admin console, it denies me. I read that I had to use the same user name and password that I used to initially log into the AMS to first time it opened up Note, that I am trying to access this browser based console from outside of AMS. The index.html page comes up fine from the outside. So which user name and password should I use? This is also a linux cent os AMS which doubles the complications.
Hi there,We have set up our AMS5 server to stream with livepkgr. What we would like is for people who connect to the stream to start listening in sync with where the broadcast is at. We don't need people to go at the start of the broadcast. The broadcaster may be streaming as they set up what they want to share and then share the link with the intended audience. When watching the stream with via RTMP, its basically around 1-2 seconds behind the actual broadcast - which is excellent. When watching with HDS, it always goes at the start of the stream. If the broadcaster has been streaming for 5 minutes before being ready (depending on the content they need to share), the viewer will be watching from the start with the unwanted potential to see things they are not supposed to.Now we set up the event as follow:/home/ams/applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent/Event.xml:<Event> <EventID>liveevent</EventID>&

When the server is booted, it starts off loading very little memory. As people watch streams, memory use gradually increases. And increases! Right now, only 22 MB free. But with only 10 people currently watching streams, I still have 100+ processes open.It seems these (caches?) open but never close - like there is no garbage collection.I appreciate the value of caches, but how can I limit the memory used by AMS??I would like to reserve a little for other processes... I'm getting nervous when it approaches the SWAP-zone...(this is AMS 5 on Centos 6.3, BTW)

The AMS tool Multicastplayer just says "Waiting for Video..."How do I configure the 9000 encoder and the AMS5 to allow multicast to work? Hello,Is there any way to add a watermark or a tracking caption / subtitle to dissuade users from using screen capture to download streaming videos? Also, can you lock down access by IP?Also, is the pricing model on Adobe Media Server 5 on Amazon Web Services - Pricing up to date? The current EC2 generation is M3 -- do the same pricing guidelines apply to M3 instances?Thank you for your help, Karamjeet

I have been able to view the sample and personal videos from local host just fine. But I can't access them from other computers. I have tried to embed the sample player in a webpage but only get black screen. I used the port test, two on one page, and both came back with all passes. The link below is the testing file I have been trying to use. It works from local host but nowhere else. Any suggestions?rtmp://192.168.1.74/vod/mp4:Sunday_June_15_2014.mp4

I'm trying to enable htcacheclean for AMS on windows. I've performed the following steps:1. Modified the ams.ini to enable htcacheclean:1.a. Set SERVER.HTCACHECLEAN_ENABLED = true1.b. Set SERVER.HTCACHEROOT = C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Media Server 5/Apache2.2/cacheroot2. Updated the httpd.conf by uncommenting LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so3. Double-checked the Server.xml htcacheclean block which looks like this:<HtCacheClean enabled="${SERVER.HTCACHECLEAN_ENABLED}"> <Directory>Apache2.2/bin</Directory> <Program>htcacheclean</Program> <RequiredOptions>-p${SERVER.HTCACHEROOT} -d5 -l1024K</RequiredOptions> <AdditionalOptions>-n -t -i</AdditionalOptions></HtCacheClean>The htcacheclean tool doesn't seem to run or launch. I've checked the master.00.log and don't see AMS invoking the htcacheclean daemon:2014-07-1618:04:244480(i)2571011Server starting...-2014-07-1618:04:284480(i)2581413C:\Progr
Hi, excuse me, i need to authenticate the publishers of live streams. I founded an article that talks about it, and it sound simple, but i don't know where to start. The solution is based in server side actionscript, but how to implement it? Thanks in advance."The next step to increase security would be to implement a user authentication scheme to validate the connecting client. For example, using variables passed in through the clientNetConnection method, you could implement a simple username/password, an encrypted token (MD5 Hash), or a unique key:User credentials (login/password): NetConnection.connect("rtmp://yourFMSserver.com", "username", "password");Encrypted token (MD5 Hash): NetConnection.connect("rtmp://yourFMSserver.com", 6aef79f07bc8f23c38e8979f3630f436);Unique key:NetConnection.connect("rtmp://yourFMSserver.com ", 349jh3k4324h9.234234098);Then, on the server side, FMS would be able to integrate with web services (SOAP), Flash Remoting, XML, HTTP Post (loadVars) or simple f
Hello,I have an RHEL 6.5 final release that I have Adobe Media Server Professional 5.03 installed on. The server is a new dell R720xd, 2 x E5-2680 v2 proc., 128 GB RAM and over 4 TB HD. We had an old version of fms 3.5 (fedora8) that was installed and working and the server has hardware failed. Our old content seems to be working fine, however when new content is added the server will not stream f4v, flv, etc, it will olny stream mp4. If I have/had an f4v file, I can just change the extension to mp4 and then the server streams. Very frustrating, I have done the troubleshooting on the online help files and have now posted this to the forums. Can anyone help or have a suggestion? Thanks.
Hi everyone reading this...I'm not familiar at all with publishing streaming content on a web. However I got a question from a client asking to get my Live Flashstream from the mediaserver and embed it in an iFrame. The problem as I've been told is that it's not possible to do this without first create a flashplayer playing the stream and then iFrame the player. Is that correct? Are there any other suggestions? As mentioned earlier I'm not a web-publisher so please explain it to a monkey...Best regards/Frippe
I am trying to set up our Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 to automatically record a copy of each stream that comes through it. The streams are coming through a streaming appliance (NewTek TriCaster, which uses a Flash Media Live Encoder profile), so I don't have a ton of options there for settings or doing any code. So I am left with setting this up with just server side code. I was able to get it working, but every recording cuts off after 5 minutes. I thought that perhaps it was something in the application.xml file, so I renamed it as application.xml.bak (making no xml file) and it still did it, even though all of the documentation says that it is supposed to be unlimited as the default. So then I made a blank application.xml file and entered this: <Application> <Recording> <MaxDuration>99999</MaxDuration> <MaxDurationCa
Hi,I am using AMS 5.0 and want to implement P2P conferencing. Can anybody give me recommendations on the case where using a P2P video for conferencing will be most beneficial and also where P2P video conferencing is not at all recommended. I ask this question on the basis of following considerations. 1) The type of network: Is P2P video conferencing recommended for LAN only. How would it behave if the users in the conference are from different geographical areas and are connected by internet(the internet can be average, in such cases, at any users end).2) Number of users: Does number of users has anything to do with the performance of P2P video communication.Thanks,Sahil.
