I primarily edit hours of gaming footage down to short videos for client YouTube channels and because of this, I use the 2x playback tool a LOT while editing. The videos basically involve a ton of jump cuts between audio waveform gaps on the timeline. So I watch the footage in 2x, see a gap between waveforms, make a cut while still playing in 2x speed and then use the ripple delete tool (B) to ripple delete the gap. My issue is I am stuck to Premiere Pro 2019 V13.0 because every version after this will not allow me to change tool during 2X playback or sometimes even regular speed playback. I'll try to switch from the selection tool to the cut tool for example and it will either take 10+ seconds to change tool, take multiple keypresses to change, or it will switch tool straight away if I pause playback. If I watch at regular speed it usually always works. This is EXTREMELY annoying as it slows my workflow down massively and I'm missing out on a lot of new features in Premiere Pro and After Effects that I'm paying for but simply cannot use. I have tested with various different source media, making new projects, updating drivers, reinstalling Windows, Premiere, GPU drivers, CPU drivers etc It's also worth noting a fellow video editor friend of mine has exactly the same issue with all Premiere Pro versions passed 2019 V13.0 We coincidentally have almost identical PC's so I'm wondering if it could be a specific bit of hardware not playing nice with Premiere. I'll list those specs below. PC Specs: i9-7900X 10 Core @ 4.5GHz GTX 1080ti 32GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM HDDs: Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD (Windows + Adobe Creative Cloud) Samsung 250GB EVO NVMe SSD (For Source Material + Editing Assets) Samsung 120GB 840 EVO SSD (Adobe Scratch Disks) 2TB 7200rpm HDD (Program Files + Storage) 2TB 7200rpm HDD (Backup Hardrive) 2TB 5400rpm HDD (Documents, Photos, Music, Pictures, Downloads etc)
