Hello Monica38... it indeed looks like that one cannot hide a slide in such a simple way as in Captivate Classic. The only method I can think of at the top of my head is to apply a slide action. Use Exit slide and Go to slide to jump over those slides you don't want to be shown.

Place a media object: Web Object with Number of web objects set to 2 and set the Web Object Source in one to System and select your PDF. For the second web object host your video in an HTML5 video tag on a server and link it. On desktop and tablet there will be nicely on left and right. On a mobile though they are stacked vertically.

According to your screenshot you are under some company's and/or network's restrictions. It looks like there's an IT administrative level which doesn't allow you to add Adobe Fonts or any other data from outside the network your are on - at least not without permission. Speak to your IT admin.

Particulary Adobe Fonts: As far as I see it you need an Adobe Creative Cloud account. That way you'll have the CC Desktop Client installed. There under Adobe Fonts one needs to add at least one Adobe Fonts family. Once they are added here they will also appear in a special section: Adobe Fonts in font menus in Captivate.

Hi Janice279.. to 1) Select a Text Block Paragraph and uncheck under COMPONENTS the Title, so that only the Body remains. Next replace the default filler text with your short quote. This makes it easier to see whether the text is centered. Now make sure to select the text block (by default called Paragraph_1) and under DESIGN OPTIONS select a design option which centers the text. Then start to set the details of your quote, like font, size, style and so on. Alternatively you can add a Media Block Quotes. Here a quote is centered with the default DESIGN OPTION. Just remove all unwanted Components. to 2) After inserting a button block and setting it under COMPONENTS to the desired number of buttons hover your mouse over the greyed out TICK Button bit and this reveals four alignment options. To space them evenly select the fourth option Distribute the buttons uniformly. to 3) Select the entire Image Block and in the Visual Properties panel on the right there's right on top this tiny monitor icon that when clicked activates Hide during publish. So when you publish your project the Image Block will be invisible at first and needs to be made visible through some interaction. Now with the buttons your need to make sure that not only the right state is selected, you also need to set the SHOW action first before SET STATE. Of course if you want to be smart you create a variable like harassmentExampleIsVisible and set it at first to false or 0 because its not visible. Then with your buttons you create a condition which basically goes like if (harassmentExampleIsVisible == 0) {
show harassmentExample;
harassmentExampleIsVisible = 1;
} This way you make sure that the SHOW action is executed only once and not redundantly repeated on each button. Well you'll have to fiddle that one out for yourself. to 4) "How can I get them to appear at the same time?" - Hm, the funny thing in Captivate is that you can hide and show the entire Image Block at once, but when you want to change (set) the states for your different harassmentExamples you have to do that with the image, the caption and the subtitle seperately. A certain delay between the different instances .. you probably have to live with that.

This problem existed already in classic Cp. Though I think one could set the color for this kind of 'letterboxing'. It's of course related to the aspect ratio of a video. Maybe as a workaround put the video into an HTML5 video tag, put in online and present it in Cp in an Web Object. Just thinking.

12.5, okay. "After tons of troubleshooting"? What kind of troubleshooting? Did your problems start with 12.5 or did you experience these with older versions too? I mean older Captivate 12.x versions. Or did the problems with slowness start with Cp 12 in general and before "I've been a Captivate user for over 10 years." you used Cp11.x or earlier versions and were more or less happy? Sorry that I only have questions to offer. My general experience with Cp12 on a Mac is speedwise very positive compared to severe problems when I first started with Cp11 in 2019.

Indeed there are plans for enabling the import of projects from Captivate Classic in the all-new version. In this sneak preview on Paul Wilson's channel you can see/hear Sharath Ramaswamy, Senior Learning Evangelist from Adobe introduce us to this plan which will be realised sooner than later. Here's the link.

Hi apgertz, I don't know in which kind of project you worked in Captivate Classic, either Blank or Responsive project, though of course in both your layout could be achieved easily. Captivate 12.+ doesn't have the same flexibility in that respect. Thus a one third / two thirds layout - it's a no no. You have to compromise, but hey, at least on my computer Cp12.+ runs much more stable than Cp11.+ ever did. Somewhat close to what you want is to use the Slide Video media block and then under DESIGN OPTIONS (Visual Properties) select the Video Design Option 2. Uncheck under COMPONENTS the Card option and check Body and Title (latter it needed). Of course it's more of 50 text/50 video layout, but hey?

From the title of your post I assume you want to insert an image only, no text. For that select an Image block and uncheck under Components (Visual Properties) everything, Caption, Subtitle, Button, Card apart from Image. For inserting a text above an image I would use the image as Background on an Text Block (i.e. Paragraph) under APPEARANCE -> BACKGROUND -> Select Image.

Hi ladwings, be aware that Captivate 12.3 and 12.4 is officially not yet compatible with MacOS 15 (Sequoia). See: System Requirements. I'm myself waiting to update to MacOS 15 because of Captivate. Hope this will happen with Captivate 12.5 which might be released in a few weeks.

Hi miglara, that's a very good question! Though currently this isn't possible because a Web Object, as we have in Captivate Classic is not available in the all-new-Captivate (including v12.4). But there's hope. Apparently this feature is in popular demand and received the status: IMPLICATION_STARTED. See Support web-based video streaming services using web objects and iframes.

That's a pity. Sorry to hear that. Maybe it helps, if you take the usual steps when one is in such a pinch with Cp. Like i.e. clear your preferences by running the dedicated tool under Applications/Adobe Captivate/utils/CleanPreferencesMac/CleanPreferencesMac. I'm not entirely sure how to do that, just double click I presume but maybe you need to execute it via the Terminal because it's an Unix executable file. IMPORTANT: execute this when Captivate is closed. Better to consult the appropriate Adobe Captivate Help sections. The reason why I don't know precisely is that opposite to some people's prejudices on Captivate and MacOS I had never particular problems with both the Classic Cp and the All-New and never needed these emergency means. Since 5 years now. Fingers crossed! However maybe if the first suggestion doesn't help I would try to deinstall and the re-install Cp. It should eventually work! BTW, which precise version of Cp 12 do you use? (see under Adobe Captivate/About Adobe Captivate ...)

Apart from my previous reply I consider it as astonishing that the Adobe Captivate team is still not ready to support MacOS Sonoma. Sonoma is now released since September 2023. How long will Adobe take to get it done? I would welcome if @Saurav_Ghosh , who sometimes turns up here, would comment.

Try another Google font. Other than Roboto which is in my Cp 12.2 on MacOS Ventura not included in the 70 Google Fonts list. Try i.e. Source Sans 3 or PT Sans. Or there are a few more Sans Serif fonts listed in the Google Fonts List in Cp 12.2.

Can't you just work with two text blocks (Text captions in Cp 2019), one for titles and one for definitions and use multistates for the different label texts? Or, just an idea, maybe your variable concept works when you instead of an empty value (which becomes 0) use the HTML entity: which is in HTML a nonbreaking space , practically an empty (text) string. Maybe?

Hello, if you don't want to add a quiz and want "the user to simply read content / view videos and click a 'next slide' button to naviage through the module. There are five pages plus an intro silde", then I wonder if the settings under Quizzing/Reporting are right. Success/Completion Criteria are not set by you at all. I would check Slide views. And then, as you are saying that "There are five pages plus an intro silde." and "The last slide has an 'exit course' button" I would compose the module to 7 slides with 5 slides containing essential contents sandwiched inbetween the intro and exit slide. Back to the Success/Completion Criteria I would select the number option and enter 5. This is because I've read here repeatedly that Slide views with 100% or all slides selected do never register as completed in an LMS. I haven't tested this myself, always have Quiz/Quiz is Passed or the quiz Attempt level is reached in my projects. But it should make sense when you want a completion without a quiz. You know that you can test that in the SCORM Cloud if the "LMS run by another company" gives you a headache. Of course with these settings don't "include a question at the end of the module". And lastly, under General I would also uncheck Allow users to review the quiz.

Hi, do not expect that all Google fonts are available in the Cp12 fonts drop-down list to choose from. With the language filter Latin activated there are currently 1,582 font families available. Imagine them all listed in Cp12. Nevertheless you are fully right to ask why just those 70 font families are listed under Google fonts. It would be actually much better to be able to embed and use any Google font in Cp12 projects. Like it is possible in Cp Classic to embed Adobe Fonts. Besides I wonder why the latter option doesn't seem to exist in Cp12. I'm interested in this matter myself and tried to find information about fonts choices in Cp12 first on Adobe Help pages and secondly on the web in general. There is nothing! In the Captivate User Guide under Add text to a project it just plainly says: "Change the text font, size, and style." Why it is not showing all available styles (or weights) from your System fonts is a different problem I also don't have an answer to.

You are probably doing nothing wrong. The button block from Cp's interactive components just turns out like that when displayed on a mobile viewport. Even if like in your case the buttons are like small circular items and have enough space to align horizontally. I've tried to attack this problem with a user-defined (custom) Design Option and that worked in the mobile-responsive view inside Captivate but already as a preview in a real browser the buttons went back to vertical stacking. The issue is that the buttons in a button block are nested in a HTML division with the class name "cp-buttons-container" and I reckon that this css class causes - behind the curtains - the vertical stacking through a media query setting for mobile-sized viewports. There are as far as I know no alignment options in Captivate to change that. This is of cause different in Captivate Classic where you have combined with Fluid Boxes the Wrap Option: Squeeze in a row. It is possible though to manipulate the display of the division with the class name "cp-buttons-container" by adding the css-rule style.flexDirection = "row" in runtime via javascript. But before I can give you the necessary code for that I'd need to know more about the architecture of your entire slide. For example how many button blocks are on a slide and where. I add a screenshot from a test module I made with two slides in mobile view. One on the left is with two button blocks (top and bottom) where I manipulated the flex-direction for both in runtime. On the right is a similar slide whereby only the top button block is manipulated, the bottom block not. There are actually three buttons in a row - one in the center is an empty invisible button to allow some space. That's why when they stack vertically there's such a gap between the two visible buttons.

I made a test with the Hotspot widget and simulated the color settings according to your, the OP's, screenshots. Published it and tested in Chrome, Firefox and Safari on MacOS Ventura. I can't reproduce the issue, the colors are fine in preview and when published. The black and grey output of gold and yellow suggests some weird color setting like 8bit/256 colors. Did you try in a different browser as RodWard suggested? Animated Gifs: In Cp 12 one can only replace the default hotspots with SVGs.

Could you please provide screen captures, of your button in preview (where it works fine) and when published. Both the 'gold' and 'yellow' states. And please from the States fly-out menu as well.

Hello, the following is valid only for the OAM method, importing the Animate animation either via Objects/Web or as Media/HTML 5 Animation. (The method of dragging it into the Assets properties is unknown to me). If it is the case, as you write above, that you are working off a closed network so the computer has no internet access then a HTML 5 animation from Animate can't download the necessary copies of the libraries hosted on the CreateJS CDN at code.createjs.com. In that case you should in Animate under File/Publish Settings in the HTML/JS section under Advanced Javascript Options uncheck Hosted Libraries. This way the CreateJS Library won't be downloaded from the CreateJS CDN, instead it will be added locally to your published export files including to your OAM file for Captivate Classic. Otherwise without the CreateJS Library your animation can't play.

As I said I kept thinking about this. If you, the AUTHOR of this thread, are still interested in further suggestions: A) It might actually not matter too much if a learner 'fails' the assessment-quiz if you don't emphasize it on a result slide. It would be just a 'statistical figure' without being publicised. B) If it still matters and the intention is that nobody can fail, how about this: Directly before your first assessment slide you add a normal blank slide with maybe an appropriate grafic/illustration, a welcoming text like "Now follows a short questionaire blah blah blah" and one button to CONTINUE (Go to next slide). This button you add in the Visual Properties panel under Reporting as Include in quiz. Assign i.e. 10 points to the button click/tap and also check Add to total and Report to LMS. You must make sure that a learner can proceed to the first assessment question only with this CONTINUE button. Now your Total Points have increased to 40 (in your setup) whereby 10 points are 'unavoidable'. Set those 10 points as Pass Points in the Result slide interactions.
